This thread depresses me sometimes, it makes me feel old. Wish I was 16 again...
I'm the one that's old. I'm 27 and you're only 26, so youthful
I remember the Irish Punt (pound) years ago too. Every time I went to my Granny's, she used to give me a pound and I'd go to the shop on the way home to buy lots of sweets
I remember a lot about childhood... I remember a lot of the memories such as my (actually deceased) first dog as a puppy, the animated series I watched on Spanish channels at children's time in the 2000's, the day I went to primary school for the first time...
To be honest, I consider adolescence as the worst stage of life because it has happened more bad things such as being traumatized by an unpleasant picture based on Rayman 2's alternative ending, psychological bullying during both at recess and at changing places when starting a class, the death of my first dog and even some exams that I failed. When I become an adult, I will never miss the adolescence because of the negative things that happens to me during that stage of life.
I used to feel nostalgia for my (earlier) childhood but now I only feel nostalgia from “better” things in it. Of course it was simpler, but I’m always moving forwards, and I understand that I can still feel happy today.
I changed my answer. I only miss certain parts of my childhood now. The rest is all part of a past I wish to put behind me as I'm moving forward with life.
Sure I'd like to be younger, but only if I can keep my memories and experience. I never want to return to my childhood because for most of my childhood I just wanted to grow up into an adult so I could be free and do whatever I wanted. I think it's better to be grateful to be as old as you are and to enjoy the ride and not really look back that much, as long as you do learn from your mistakes of course.
