Yeah so I don't know why Rayman called for him.

It's like Homer Simpson calling for Marge, Lisa and then (grudgingly) Flanders when he realized he had a meltdown on his hands.

Perhaps it was a Rayman 2 reference, since i see no other real reason? Idk lol

It's a reference, since it's the same voice clip, but not purely so.
It underlines the hopelessness of the situation, by demonstrating that Rayman's only recourse is to call out to his cowardly friend for help. But it's also really funny, like Homer calling Flanders!

If they're going to use Rayman 2 references then using the Baby Globox model would have been a good start.
Also yeah, Flanders.

wait so they used a rayman 2 voice clip? for the pretty much unchanged r3 design? really?

Yeah, they used the voice from the beginning of Rayman 2 where he shouts "GLOOBOOX".

Is that when he gets attacked by the rabbids? I've probably never even seen that cutscene.

Yeah, it's the last thing we hear from him as Sergueï carries him off into the distance.

I didn't even realise it myself until Birds858 mentioned it as I asked a TTQ question. I expected Rayman 2 as an answer and then he said Rayman Raving Rabbids.

The Dynamic between Rayman and Globox in Origins and Legends reminds me of Asterix and Obelix

Don't know those 2 characters you compared Rayman and Globox to, but I think the dynamic between them is like Mario and Luigi (and they have matching costumes too)

Globox, my favourite Rayman character!

Well, Luigi and Globox are easy to scare, while Mario and Rayman tend to be braver.

Exactly, which is why I made the comparison.

I do know Mario tends to be fatter, but then Luigi is also taller.

Seeing how Globox can defend himself like Rayman you think he was just too lazy or hadn't met a fairy to grant him the power to do so?

I think it's more of a fact that some Rayman games don't connect to each other that much. Globox seen in 2 and 3 is different personality wise from the one in Origins, Legends, even in 3 it's weird to see him speak full sentences, especially when he was "Big the Cat" type character in 2, though maybe he learnt to speak normally, who knows?
