Heck, this series is AMAZING! It's probably my second or third favorite (Having Super Mario as #1 and Medievil as 2 or 3.). And boy am I sure glad I was introduced to the series. Not only because of the series but also because, well...Here! Let me go back to when I was first introduced:

When I was like eleven, or twelve or so I heard one of my best friends was madly in love with a series known as Ratchet and Clank. And if I remember right, I've heard about the series before I even knew she owned it. But I was too young to ever take interest in it and I was even AFRAID of the looks of it. So anyhow, my friend got me to try out the third game (Up Your Arsenal. AKA, the best in the series.) with her brother, so I'm like, "FIIIIINE. But I know I'm gonna hate it". Boy was I wrong. I adored the weapons, gameplay, graphics, humor, and eventually, I even tried out the Single Player Mode, and I suddenly fell in love with the series. It now remains as one of my favs.

Ratchet and Clank: Lots of fun. Very original. The only thing I don't like is that Ratchet acts like a selfish jerk.

Going Commando: Like it even more with the new add-on's and storyline.

Up Your Arsenal: Currently my favorite. Love the storyline, love the humor, love the villain (Dr Nefarious. He ALWAYS cracks me up. "LAWRENCE!!!!!!" XDD), love the multiplayer, just overall love it.

As with the rest of the series, I really like it. The first three, however, have to be my favorites.

And remember how I said liking the series was good in more than one way? I'm glad I was introduced to the series not only because I like the series itself but this was also the reason I started playing other Playstation games, which I later adored and still do today. Back then, I was just a Nintendo geek but now I slightly betrayed Nintendo and became a fan of Playstation as well.

So to sum it, I LOVE the series SO much. This series is also the reason I was introduced to the actual Playstation. The end.

Hope it'll be good. Who knows, maybe there's gonna be a new trend to make CG movies about characters from platformer games.

I cant wait, Drek's been confirmed as the villain. If it actually turns out well, I would love to see Nefarious on the big screen in a sequel!

You mean the first game, right Ikke?
Hmm, not sure what to make of this, if they're adapting Ratchet 1's story, then we're going back to the time when Qwark was evil, Ratchet was a bit of a jerk and the duo didn't get on as well, unless said adaptation has it so that the personalities are a little less extreme, it could be a little confusing to the more newly come of the series.

Ratchet and Clank is the RIGHT series to turn into a movie. A lot of people are saying they should try it with Jak but ehhh, he doesn't seem like he'd hold up very well on the big screen, but possibly we can expect some Jak cameos? Maybe even Sly? :)

The animation is rather good, it certainly maintains the current designs. I'll admit I'm not the biggest fan of the Post-Future aesthetic, the redesigns aren't horrible or anything, but my preference lies towards the Future aesthetic.
I'd like to think there'd be cameos, but that remains to be seen, I agree completely that R&C is the best of the PS2 trio for a movie adaptation, comic books would be best for Sly, and for Jak, I think novels, personally, don't know why, but given the focus on the story increased Post-Sandover, I'd think that the more involved story would work best in a novel.
Could just be me, but that's what I think.

The Future series of Ratchet And Clank was incredible, only the first 3. The new spin-offs, All 4 One and Q-Force, seriously don't hold my interest. A Crack in Time is undoubtedly one of my favorite Ratchet and Clank games, game might have been easy but had an EPIC story.

I thought the Future series only comprised of the first three R&C PS3 games (ToD, QfB, CiT), the series was never acknowledged as thus here, they were just their own R&C titles, however, given that they hold an overarching story regarding both of the titular characters, I tend to view those three games as the Future trilogy, much like how R&C 1, Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal is known as the Original Trilogy.

I do count All 4 One and Full Frontal Assault to be fully fledged instalments in the series, they do carry on the story canonically, but differ due to experimentation with the R&C formula (and I'll admit, I enjoyed playing Nefarious in All 4 One, and I enjoyed Full Frontal Assault).

I'm curious though, are we going to wait for two years now for the movie, and not have anything inbetween? I know we're moving to new generation of consoles, which often means that devs like to start afresh, but given how Ratchet is probably the most enduring of the PS2 trio, the fact that he has a movie is a testament to that, it'd be nice to see him still go forth.

I think we may expect another HD port for the vita, considering Sly and Jak are getting the make-over, I think Ratchet and Clank should have it as well.

Personally, I think the R&C HD collection was the least impressive of the three, the game looked really good in HD and all, but the cutscenes could've been done better, some are just the PS2's and others have visible glitches, like the cutscene where Quark returns at the finale of R&C 3, his pupils disappear, while he proclaims, "believe it, toasterhead!"

The cutscenes were the only problem, how could they be so lazy with them seriously? What I think is really funny is how the first screen in R&C 1 is ported to HD, but R&C 2 and 3's first screen isn't ported to HD. But hopefully these problems will be fixed in the Vita version.

Meh, it'd be nice to have them fixed all round, but to have the knowledge that they are fixable is enough, I guess.
I reread the given information, and it mentions the Galactic Rangers, think it refers to the cowardly 'bots from UYA? Or a new team altogether?

The annoucement of the movie production also makes me think that I just bought the PS2 trilogy in the right moment. I've been doing a break in the first R&C game (which I believe to have it half done in terms of planetary access) but I'll try to finish these three games until the end of Summer.

Honestly I'm pretty glad you got into R&C Haruka, I wasn't thinking it were really your type of game, so it's nice to see that. :)

THIS....I am sorry. I may not be expressing my total happiness and feelings for it, but I am EXTREMELY hyped to see the Ratchet and Clank movie. And from the looks of it, I don't think it's going to be as nearly as bad as the Super Mario Movie. Let's admit it. That one was TERRIBLE.

But as for Ratchet and Clank, it totally makes sense to be making it a movie. And hearing that it's going to mostly be based off the first game makes me even more interested because I personally like the beginning Trilogy a tiny bit better than the Future Trilogy. (The third is my personal favorite overall in the complete series. One reason is because in the first game, well...This is ONE reason but Ratchet was a real jerk-face in that game. AND selfish.)

And Haruka, good choice of choosing to get into Ratchet and Clank. Trust me. It's worth playing.

Well, lookie here:

Looks interesting, I must say, and it's the first game to have the usual formula in since a Crack in Time, big boots to fill in there.
It also seems we've shifted back into the Future aesthetic, though with hints of A4O and FFA/Q-Force's.
Seems like you were right, Bzzit.
