< needs help solving some mathematics!

The formula is
(3x+1) / (x-2) = (2y+3) / (y-1)
The assignment is to have x on the one side and a set of numbers and y's on the other, for example
x = 67y+2
Something like that. However, I can't figure out how to isolate the x's in such a way that I can then turn them into one single x. I tried
(3x+1) * (y-1) = (x-2) * (2y+3)
but trying to apply any kind of transformation to that will only result in that same first formula, or its inverse.

Can anybody help me here?

^ can change the character by going to Scripts.pak (open it with an archiving programme like 7zip) -> Scripts -> Entities -> Actor -> Player.lua. Extract it, uncheck the "read only" option in its properties, then open it in notepad. Near the top there should be a line that shows the path of the player model. ^ can either choose to overwrite the original Player.lua in the archive - or, the better solution however is to create the folder directories Game\Scripts\Entities\Actor\ outside the archive and place the modified Player.lua in there. The same can be done with any file in the paks.

< is studying like mad for <'s Music History exam tomorrow on the Mediaeval and Renaissance notable works and artists. Fun fact: one of the most famous and successful composers of the Renaissance was a serial killer who wrote music and songs based on the people he killed.

< just found out that blowing on an ordinary 500ml water bottle (it seems to work best with Nestle) produces a perfect A 220. That might prove to be a useful tuning tool for flutists and other people who can make solid tones on them. Take note that if you can't do it, the note you get from just blowing at it improperly is way sharp of A 220 and probably lies around 230-250 hz.

< just found out that < can even make tones on on the brims of cardboard toilet paper rolls (after covering up the bottom of course).
