Well, they changed the background to a waterfall, and in the original, it was a jungle. I don't know any other ways I can explain it.

Good catch - and it just looked a lot worse back then. Where did you see it before? I vaguely remember posting a screenshot, but I have no idea when

Thanks. :) All I remember searching was Rayman Revenge of The Dark, and that picture of the menu showed up in google images. I have the picture saved on my iPad.

Just a question Adsolution (nice new username): is the soundtrack complete?

I would've be honored to download it ALL and listen to it on my phone and MP3.

For example, there may be some roosting on ledges, treetops or posts as slow-flapping Rayman 2 yellow lums. But when you run up to them, their eyes open up and out pop their limbs as they fly away. Little environmental details that clean up the lore quite a bit, and that's my favourite kind.
That's quite a neat thought, yes. When you say 'fly away', do you mean they'll try to get away from you because they don't want you to get them, or will they hover about a bit on the spot?
Adsolution wrote:I like to explain inconsistencies with very simple and logical answers instead of going all fan-ficcy and making up some huge background element. Of course big explanations are nice from time to time (the story of ROTD, really), but something like this is nice to be kept simple.
And it's great to tie in the multiple games of the series in such a subtle way.

Loving the menu!
You should make the red lums move around a bit in the background and do various stuff :)

Hahah, they do!

Here are our textured lums (textured by Spanex of course), right in the first few minutes of the game:

I still have to give them a bit of a glow (which can be done via sprites), but I'll leave it at this for tonight.

Nope, the soundtrack isn't complete, however I can estimate that I'm about 75% done.

As for downloads, I'm not going to upload anything in high quality until the very end, when I plan to release an official soundtrack package with the retail version of the game; that's my catch, only the retail versions of the game come with special features such as the soundtrack and making-of stuff (and more), as opposed to the digital copies which only come with the game. My reasoning for this is because I want people who are really interested to actually go out and get the retail version, it's how I intended it to be. I want it to provide that nostalgic feeling of opening the box, flipping through the CDs of content, all in a totally 90's-esque fashion - the difference being that it runs on one of the most powerful game engines on the market.

That is of course, like I've said many times, if all goes for best.

When I'm done the soundtrack, I will most likely finetune all the loose ends on each track and upload them all individually and in order to the RayTunes YouTube channel (I asked Drolpiraat about this a while ago). Some of the tracks uploaded there will actually be higher quality than the ones I've posted in my soundtracks parts, since I'm not going to reupload something unless it's been completely redone. In fact, in the parts 1-30 retrospective I'm working on, you'll get to hear some higher quality versions of those tracks. Unless you're well-adept to the way the originals sounded though you probably aren't going to notice a big difference.

They look very good - good job to both of you! - but I have a suggestion concerning their arms. Their elbows, as they are now, are bending forwards, and although they are magical beings of energy and not vertebrates with bones and so the normal physical rules don't apply to them, it creates an unnatural feeling. You may want to bend the elbows inwards or at least sideways - but that's of course your own decision to call. And perhaps it's just the camera angle giving me a weird perspective - in that case, ignore what I said. ;)

Excellent! Will it also contain a manual/booklet? I hate it when the games store doesn't provide me with a book, because I know there must be one (there always is) and I like reading up on some background information or tips that the devs may hand out to me. Usually we learn something interesting and new from the books. Sometimes they're just nicely crafted and fun to look through, even if only once, but you do feel like you're missing out on something when there isn't one there.

Nice menu there.

Also about the 1 year celebration banner, don't get me wrong I'm okay with the Origins Lum are in the game, but it would give a little more sense if two electoon hold the banner, as lums never took place in Rayman 1.

Nothing big, but something i wanted to point out.

Oo it's been a long time i haven't been here, but I'll be short.

New stuff is orsum. For the menu, why not animate the river with some fishes (or a whale queue :P ?).

The lums look nice. For me they should have bigger wings but watevur...

Zombie Chicken : fukin' creepy :hinhinhin: ...

I hope I could comment more often ;).

EDIT : Typo (fuk u Rulez).

I've always loved Spanex's art, and seeing as she's doing a damn great job with the textures is awesome, I'm really looking forward to the progress on this.

Also: Since I have gotten my new pc I tried the stresstest (Since this time NOTHING will crash XD), unfortunately, I couldn't get it because the links are deleted :(, oh well.

Better update the title name then; if the download is no longer available, there's no real reason to advertise it anymore.

Are you sure? The mediafire link works fine here. If that is what you referring to.

If that link isn't working, try downloading it from here: http://www.crydev.net/project_db.php?ac ... ct_id=2125

That link will always link to the newest version. All past versions from now on will be archived and available on MediaFire.
