His score was removed as it was deemed illegitimate. Reading his three posts makes it clear he was a troll.

I would not look at his behaviour as a reflection on this community.

What happened to giving someone the benefit of the doubt and actually giving them a chance to explain/prove whether it was a legitimate score or not? Also, what happened to actually discussing decisions about the HoF in the scoring community and not making autocratic decisions?

Maybe that was a bit unclear: "WTF, this community is hilarious" was related to Mirage's HoF-score, not the fact that it got deleted. Also, sfn's post is everything but not "community full of evil hitlers", there's a difference between criticism and polemic. I know, this is the internet where only black and white exist but maybe I can enlighten your world a bit.

What was the score then?

I can't remember it exactly, but I recall it being around 893k.

896.969 (sixtyniiiiiiine). Which is indeed possible, his HoF-entry was just the only "proof" that this score was somehow legit.

guys, calm your tits. Let's just assume Mirage is an exception and everbody is wonderful on this forum, that might not be 100% true but will help to focus on the actual topic.

would you dare to elaborate? imho i would deem your claims to be a quite far-fetched theory, but i'm always up for some entertainment

also, what sfn said. his posting behaviour might be considered solid evidence for the lacking credibility of the entry if you are from the impatient kind, but there is a difference between sole indicators and causal relationship.
mind you all, mandm has 889k without even using the ipb

Cut insulted our dear community, that is all of us, most of whom have nothing to do with the matter you're discussing and don't give the slightest fuck about it. As for the entertainment I think your friend is already providing it.

That's the point. Scoring has expanded so much that such a score is possible and even if it wasn't possible based on public knowledge, we should at least consider the possibility that someone found something new. To put into perspective, two years ago we thought the maximum to be around 859k. To remove a score based on someone solely being a troll, an opinion which was based on 1 (!) post without even giving the player a chance to explain himself, is an atrocity. I'd like to know who was responsible for this decision. We've all been hearing about these ominous HoF-Mods (especially from MandM), but it is unclear for me who these people are.

I seem to recall that there was a list somewhere (sadly, I forgot where to find it). Also according to my memory, Xenon should be one of the moderators, I guess?

I assume you were not directing this at anyone specific, but if I may talk for myself:
As my previous post should indicate, I never claimed that such a Score was impossible (because I know it IS possible), but:
1.) His Score was 830k a few weeks ago. Improving the Score by 66k may not be an impossible task, but it would be pretty impressive. Considering that his Score has already been good before, a little bit TOO impressive, if you ask me.
2.) You say that a Score of 896k can be reached; that may be true, but it requires that one found at least some of those things which, up to now, everyone but MandM has overlooked (because just relying on your or my knowledge WON'T be enough to get 890k). Going by MandM's reaction, he doesn't seem to have given out any information to Mirage. I hope you can agree that not only improving your Score by 66k, but ALSO randomly finding one of these sources for additional Points - and all that within 2 or 3 weeks, mind you - seems a little bit too convenient.
Of course, I'd rather wait for Mirage to either prove his Score or for him to say it was a hoax, but I've got to admit that just that is pretty suspicious. And finally...
3.) As long as he doesn't complain about his Score being removed, I'll have to assume that it wasn't real - if someone simply assumed MY Score to be not real, and just removed it from the HoF, I would be pissed. If he ever claimed it was, I for one will gladly give ihm the chance to provide solid proof. Of course, it has only been a day since his Score got noticed, so I'll give him another week. If he didn't complain by then, it would be really weird.

memberlist.php?mode=group&g=415

It looks like someone submitted a fake score, expecting the Hall of Fame moderators to summarily remove it, so that they can be accused of being unfair and then be deposed.

Seriously guys, how did we end up at this point? All that sfn said was that he doesn't like how decisions were made behind the scenes. Do you really think I don't agree that Mirage's score is bullshit with 99% chance? That's not the question, but we wouldn't have this discussion if Mirage was a 100% certain cheater. 99% is not 100% and that's kinda the problem in this case. But I agree with Maz, time will tell where this is going and if Mirage doesn't issue a statement for his score, I guess we can forget about it anyway.

Just to clear up a few points. Yes, it is possible to reach 890+ points in R3 and no, you don't automatically get a score deleted on the basis of being a troll or an idiot in general. But when you improve by 66k points in one go in a matter of weeks, then the alarm goes off. Combining this with a complete lack of information regarding improvements from this player, despite actively posting on the scores topic, it spells foul play.

When looking at the "learning curve" in R3, it's fairly easy to spot suspicious improvements. We all know how long time it took the best players in TSF (sfn, MG Cut and CC) to reach the current score in TOTL, and we know how long time it took Maz, 1234 and myself to develop CF. And we haven't even got the best score in CF yet! So setting an improvement of 66k points up against the elite players here and in TSF makes reaching a conclusion straight forward.

The player Mirage is of course welcome to prove us wrong, and provide sufficient evidence for the legitimacy of his score.

sfn: You can find the info you seek in Usergroups. This info is readily available for all.
