I installed the original Rayman 3 through discs onto my PC which has Windows 11, and I replaced the "Gamedatabin" file in it with the folder of the same name that comes with "Better Rayman 3." Unfortunately, I can't open the game because when I select "Rayman3.exe," a window pops up saying "Access Denied. Please login with administrator privileges and try again." What should I do?

It would be great if there was an instructional video on how to do this, please. It's hard for me to follow written instructions.

If what you did is installing Better Rayman 3 by just replacing the files manually it will probably cause some issues as that's not the only thing the installer does iirc.
I suggest installing Better Rayman 3 by using the installer that you can find in the first post of this topic, it's very easy to use

Okay, I went through the Better Rayman 3 Setup Wizard. I also went through R3_Setup_DX8, and synchronized texture info in the Rayman Control Panel, but nothing seems to have changed. It's still the same old 2003 non-HD Rayman 3.

One of the apparent changes when Better Rayman works, is that the cutscenes are skippable.
Start new game and try to skip the first cutscenes.
If you can do this, BR works.
Make sure you've chosen your resolution in Better Rayman and that's it.

Better Rayman is not a texture mod. It's main purpose is widescreen mod with some QoL fixes.

For HD tex mod you can search my signature.

I think there's a problem with the aspect ratios I'm using. This is AFTER I installed "Better Rayman 3."

The 2560x1440 setting expands to widescreen, but all of the text is misarranged on both the menus and the in-game instructions, and the menus are also zoomed in. Not only that, but the FMVs only play the sound, and they're all black screens.

The 1920x1440 setting has all of the text on the menus in the positions they should be, but it doesn't expand to widescreen.

What a I doing wrong?

I went under "Properties" for both the GOGGalaxy and Rayman Control Panel shortcuts. For the former, I was able to check the box under "Program DPI" and "High DPI scaling override," but I don't see any option that says "Windows logon." There are two options under "Program DPI" that say "I signed in to Windows," and "I open this program." When I check "Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by," there are three options: Application, System, and System (Enhanced). Under the Rayman Control Panel properties, the "Override high DPI scaling behavior" checkbox is checked, but greyed out.

Unfortunately, after all that, the scaling of the screen, text and selection highlights are still all wrong at 2560x1440! I just don't understand it.

That's how it should look like, but it's on some regional OS version, I only tried to find how these options are called in English OS creating these steps.

Especially lowering high refresh refresh rate.

I did lower the refresh rate under the computer's settings, but nothing changed when I started the game up. I feel like I need a bit more direct immediate help in a Discord or chat line.

Maybe I'll just play Rayman 3 HD on my RPCS3 emulator, instead.

Can't remember precisely, but about that screenshot I pasted, maybe that option was from some newer W10 build you don't have.

Also, you should be able to edit compatibility settings for the game directly to the game exe (if one of the shortcuts wasn't a direct shortcut already, instead of one referring just to some launcher).

Also, you can probably ensure that your monitor is running at 60Hz by checking current resolution and refresh rate in your monitor OSD.

Are you referring specifically to "Better Rayman 3" (the topic of this thread), or is your question about the original retail release?

Hi doctor_st, I'm referring to the animated films of Rayman 3, I don't know if you know? The audio of these animated films is in English, despite having set the Italian language via Better. The menu is in Italian and during the game the characters speak in Italian. The animated films, however, remained in English and I listened to them via the VLC media player which also allows me to view them. I don't know if there is a way to change the audio language or put subtitles

Better Rayman 3 isn't used to install the language files, but to improve the game experience. When you installed Rayman 3 in your computer, are you sure that you installed the Italian audio files correctly?

Hi DaveRattlehead, when I installed Rayman 3 in the videos folder I opened the bik files and I realized that the audio was in English. I thought that by using Better to set the language the game would automatically convert them into Italian, but this is not the case

So wait, is the language incorrect in the game or only in VLC? In VLC you have to select the correct audio track when playing back the bik file.

The BIK files that have speech have 5 separate audio tracks in them, for the different languages. The language is determined by the settings in ubi.ini, which can either be in %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore\Windows\Ubisoft, or %SYSTEMROOT%\Ubisoft, depending on the operating system and the game installation.

For Italian, the language needs to be set to 'Italian', not 'Italiano'.

And as PluMGMK mentioned - in an external player, the audio track must be selected manually.

Hi PluMGMK, the language is wrong only in the bik files basically that I opened via VLC media player. How do you select the correct audio track via VLC? I do not know how to do it

doctor_st in the ubi.ini file the language is set to Italian. I went to that link you sent me because when I installed the game and set the 16:9 resolution for my PC, the animated videos of Rayman 3 couldn't be seen, the screen was black, but the audio could be heard. To solve the problem I had to go to the FMV section for Playstation 2 and download the new bik files and replace them with the others in the videos folder. In fact, now they can be seen but I'm english, I would like them in Italian
