has any one done a speed run on Rayman, without taking a single hit?

Hm, best bet would probably be Wesh, though from what I've seen of TAS, getting hit isn't usually a big deal, and in some cases, the knockback effects tend to be utilised.

Rayrobi did it too. Wait, he didn't speedrun but he did beat the game without taking hit.

TAS doesn't really count though, because it's not a human playing the game.

I've tried twice, and both times I'd managed to get all the way up to Space Mama without getting hit. I haven't tried again since.

Hmm, I took "speed run" to refer to the whole spectrum, though in retrospect, I'd say you're right.

Hah, you'd have to be SUPER dedicated to do a SPEED run of Rayman 1.. Yikes.. Just doing a normal run is hard enough!

Well, as I believe RaymanPS1 brought up in another thread, there are some pretty talented gamers who can beat Rayman with over 90 lives to spare. I think Rayman 1 is speedrunnable, it's just hard to fathom for we lesser players.

That's for sure. Stuff like Crash Bandicoot, I can see why you can speed run that. I can even speed run those games on a good few levels.

I could see a speed-run of Rayman 3 being done.

Rayman 2 just takes too long LOL

Rayman 2, too long? Where've you been? I'm no speedrunner, but I'd say it'd take me about 5 hours to run through it normally these days.

Hah really? :P Well I suppose if you're very familiar with the game :P I find it always drags on a bit. Was doing a play through recently with a friend of mine

Hm, to each their own, I've always felt that most Rayman games have felt a bit on the the short side. Rayman 1's less than forgiving difficulty did drag things a little, so I consider it to be the exception.

Maybe Revolution feels longer since that's the one that I'm playing? :P Also Rayman 3 is pretty short once you get good at the game.

Hm, I'll agree that Revolution was a bit longer, but I don't recall it being all that much longer, still been some time.

It's a lot of running around going to places, and it's all kinda similar :p

The game-play and surroundings :P

It's either green forest, or pirate wood!

How far have you gotten? I'm pretty sure there were some beaches, temples, mountains, caves and a graveyard in there.

Haha sorry I forgot the temple bit! It all just felt a bit samey to me. Maybe that's because I was playing it slowly?

Although I do find if I play Rayman 3 'too well' it goes too fast, which is a shame since it's a very good game.
