I'm all for this. It would be a very subtle, but rather funny easter egg for those who get it!
That, it would be. I'd look forward to that, hah.
Shrooblord wrote:You could punch it off the branch, eat it and go on a psychedelic trip! For the lulz. The trip could be Rayman revisiting his childhood 2D self in the Pink Plant Woods or summin'.

:P

Don't take that too seriously, but if you're feeling like inserting a joke...
Actually, that would be pretty funny and just fun in general. I can imagine Rayman tripping right now - there could be psychedelic, trippin' levels that would be somewhat like the Funkyboard levels from R3, but without the board.  I could only guess what crazy hallucinations he'd have if he were to be high. As a matter of fact, gimme dat trippin' fruit, I need some of that, myself.

On another note, Ad the soundtrack sounds great so far, keep up the amazing work. In general, the game looks great and it's killing me that I have to wait so long for you and the team to finish it so I can play it. When do you expect to finish the game, anyways? I already know that's it's probably going to be awhile, but do you have any idea when at all?

I almost forgot to review your soundtrack like I normally do!

Here goes - as usual, all written as I'm listening (so it's one of those first-impression things):

1. Valley of Illusion: Bridge to a Sleepy New World
It's very welcoming and mysterious at the same time. The title says it all - it's like awakening to a not-yet-quite-awake environment. The pauses (breaks) sound very professional. Somehow I can't help but feel this sounds inspired by the Halo scores... The synthy jingly sounds from 1:18 onwards sound surreal and the persisting tone is almost flat - very eerie and strange effect, but I like it! The guitar gives it the finishing touch it needs. This sounds like a great soundtrack.

2. Dream Forest Depths: The Thicket (Redux)
Ah yes I recall this. It's got a magical and ominous feeling. I like how you expanded upon the Rise and Shine theme intro sequence from Rayman M (I think there's a little hint of Spellbound Forest in there too?) in this. It fits very well and it all makes a grand impression. Something in the tune sounds a little tragic near the end. I can only imagine!

3. Dream Forest Depths: Rise and Shine
I love the interaction between the piano and the strings. The ringing chimes add a nice effect. Is this a jingle at the beginning of a level or sequence, cutscene, etc.? It feels very much like one.

4. The Shutter Cave: In White Light
Ooh - I'm in for a long one! This is scary, I'll give you that. That trancy sweeping sound is just weird - I can't describe it any other way. Don't think of any connotations you would usually think of when you hear someone use the word - it's simply weird, not bad. This is an atmospheric track, no - at least at the beginning? The 'swoops' of the instruments that mark a new section are very unearthing - if you get what I mean - but well done. I'm not sure what to expect of the environment by hearing this music; it's a wonderful place, or an expansive one, or at least unknown and explorative. The organs make me want to feel good, but there's something very creepy about them too. It's an easy, relaxing theme at times, but also startling at others. It's definitely somehting I can see sliding into the background well.

5. Starlight Peak: Raven's Aurora
First impression: melancholy. Raven appears to me, judging by the music, as someone who's had to deal with a lot of hardships, but is still standing firmly on her feet. There's much darkness inside her, but her heart is bright. Something is reaching out, trying to escape - the flutes accomplish this feeling - but it's finding it hard to do so. The music makes her intriguing and majestic, if also someone to empathise with.

6. Starlight Peak: Follow the Fireflies
I love this track's wandering feeling. It actually sounds like a trail somehow. Follow me here, there, up here, down this path. You can almost hear something coming round the corner, but it doesn't feel like something bad's about to happen. Is it nighttime? At least there is great serenity. The high piano notes at 15:10 onwards complete the melody in a nice way. It's got a light ending - it almost shines like the stars do.

I didn't review Mount Kollapso because I think you've heard enough from me on that front. ;)
I still think it's great though!

Your soundtracks are really starting to make a very professional impression. You're getting amazing at this!

There are distinct differences between the 'rankings' of being good at something. It probably goes like something along the lines of poor-alright-good-great-excellent-amazing-godlike. She was always good - maybe she was even always great. But now she's getting amazing.

EDIT:
Please excuse my 5-AM mood. Not a good time to be posting on the forum.

That, she was, and still is, amazing at. I especially loved this one track she linked us to awhile back. It was just marvelous, but I can't remember the name of it or which soundtrack video it was in. Oh well, I'll just have to search for it; I know she must have it somewhere on YouTube.

Alright, I think I'm finally caught up enough to say that holy crap this is probably the greatest fan project I've ever seen put together. I'm a bit envious because I've wanted to do things like this for most of my life, but the tools to do so have never been available so I've had some pretty severe limitations on what I can and can't do. For everyone who's working on this project, I tip my hat to you. It's incredible and really shows what can be accomplished when you're determined to do something. I hope it's seen through to the end, especially with all the time and effort put into it. Keep up the good work! I look forward to the next update.

That post you made pretty much summed up everything I've ever wanted to say about Ad's game. I could never even make something like this if I had everything I needed to, because I'm a newb at creating games. I only play 'em.

Hopefully someone else didn't cover this news already. But apparently, a page about ROTD is on a Rayman wiki.
http://pl.rayman.wikia.com/wiki/Rayman: ... f_the_Dark
Sorry, its only in Polish :fou: I'd suggest using Google translate to see what it says. Unless you speak Polish, you don't need Google translate. Its not amazing news, but its still cool.

Finally, I listened to your new soundtracks. But I won't be as good as this freakin' Shroob' for its review, and I'm a bit lazy today (tsoo...as usual :P).

About all tracks : Indeed, the transitions and the appearance of all the songs you used to make those soundtracks are very good : the music sounds more smooth to me now. It seems near to professionnal work about game soundtrack. But it is maybe because I know you are not a professionnal music designer (ah, bias... ).

The songs for Deep Forest Depths are very well adapted for it : I was listening to it but not on the page when it was playing so i didn't noticed the change between the two songs.

Race Of A Legendary Misconception : omagad you reworked your #2. This is awesome. Of course it's better but you added so much more rythm changes and a whole lot of new instruments. I especially loved the part with violin/wind instruments. What I would like to say about this rework is the fact that you used the same rythms but you made it with more instruments. You also varied the notes of the guitar. It seemd to me lika a little solo :D.

I hope I made myself understand (how translate musical impressions in English...so bad  ).

"It turns out that Mr. Poor has created a bad clone of a titre Dark Rayman."

Thanks, Google Translate.

Rayman: Revenge of the Dark (engl. Rayman 1.5 Revenge of darkness) is a 3D platformer, which is responsible for creating the fan from Canada for ksywkach RayFan9876 and Adsolution .
Translate can sometimes make great things happen. I lol'd so hard.
Well now we know Ad's greatest secret! She was created by a videogame!
