What is this creepy shit? Seriously Murfy will give me nightmares forever.
It seems like the Animatic are not fully animated. Fascinating, ive been wondering what Rayman 3's run animatic looked like.

Considering it's Rayman 3 HD, that's probably just an ordinary gameplay video

Do we have the slightest clue what this is supposed to be? Is this an entirely scrapped area or really early Bog of Murk? It looks R2-ish to me.
Also I noticed Ray's beta blue/yelllow outfit shows up in more than one image, but considering that they come from very early development screenshots i'm assuming it could just be an old colour palette rather than an actually scrapped power-up. Also there's stars around Rayman.

It was looking like Clearleaf Forest, but I found some textures of this level in Rayman 3 HD (the trees) and If I remember correctly those were on Summit Beyond Cloud level, but that might just be an error

I'm sure they'd do some tuning but, if this is what was going to be of Clearleaf forest it looks a little too similar to The Canopy with those textures, just doesn't work with Rayman 3 in my opinion.

My theory is that after leaving the boat in The Summit Beyond the Clouds, you would enter an autumnal area at the bottom of the mountain and work your way up to the snowy area. A leaf texture extremely similar if not identical to those found in that screenshot appears in the same folder as those from the final summit, and we know based on the contents of fix.lvl that there was originally going to be another level in that world. Plus, in that screenshot the level design appears very vertical.

That's probably true, which is why there are the trees texture in r3HD summit folder

Does anyone know about the red lums? I've been wondering about them for a while. Red lums appear in the intro and when you grimace at a black lum, but are the other health things also supposed to be lums or what?
Also, supposing they are red lums, in the final fight with reflux he shoots what appear to be yellow lums. Is there maybe some connection there or just a reused texture?

I'm pretty sure any early concept of red lums was gonna be used as health, makes sense to port it over from R2.
But those yellums are kinda odd, I've always figured there wasn't anything behind it but it does seem a bit weird to just recycle such a commonly seen object in the game.

Was the beta script for Rayman 3 ever a thing or was that part of my imagination? If it is real, does anybody still have it? I'd like to read it.

You should find it browsing the Rayman threads. Shouldn't be that many pages back.
"Dear player, it might surprise you to learn that yours truly is composed of eight hundred and sixteen polygons. Given that the garden-variety glute only contains THREE hundred and eighteen polygons, you can PLAINLY see why I'm on the cutting edge of 3D technology."'
"Please note that I'm also endowed with twenty formation poses and sixteen animations, resulting in a kind of flexibility that comes in handy during combat and in more intimate situations."
Where does Globox say that? I should play the game again. I'm tempted to buy the HD version but well, glitches..

Hoodlum Headquarters, before the Horrible Machine fight, iirc.
