I enjoyed the battle scene in the trailer, the one in which the two pussies had to use the heart thing.
LOL, that's what I thought, those guys are complete cowards. And yes, I noticed that the enemies are more resistant, they carry shields and stuff, finally some good challenge and not just too-dumb-to-live enemies:D

It is useless Sergio. When a 3D game comes, those same people will try to figure out something to hate about. :mryellow: A vicious cycle.
Totally true, i guess they'll judge the soundtrack, the landscape, the new characters, the levels, etc with the only argument "I hate this game, it's not like the other Rayman game, rayman sucks now, I'm gonna leave the fanbase" There's a simple name for people like these: Retrofags.

It would give more reason to go back and play previous levels, and give people more reason to play in Co-Op. It'd also add a layer of strategy to the game, as in which characters will you choose to get through each level the first time around?
Yeah, that's the idea. Although the designers would have to really make the secret areas big, varied and interesting, so that going through the levels multiple times won't feel too much like the same thing over and over. I can't imagine that this should be hard to do though.

As for the enemies having more resistance, I really hope they add hit points for both player characters and enemies, as well as include types of enemies who are less passive or pattern-bound, like ones that jump at you and attack you directly. Just expanding upon the beat-em-up and exploration aspects would be nice, and a good contrast to Origins with its more fast paced, timing based platforming. With a different name and a different art style in place, a different design style is all this game needs to really stand out as its own in the series.

So yeah... pretty excited for it.

I'd love to see real enemies, that take more than one hit to defeat. Almost every level in Origins was designed in such a way that you could run from the beginning to the end, and that made the game extremely dynamic, but also had a negative impact on the enemies.

How, it's been since Christmas and I've beating Rayman Origins 95% (dang Lum medals). Anyway, I'm excited for this game. Hopefully they'll add Tarayzan, Uglette and Ice Teensy. Yak-Strong (fan-name for the Betilla-like warrior) looks like an interesting character to play as, can't wait to see what she's like during gameplay. And YAY! Return of Rabbids... no. Also, Ezio playable or Assassin Creed level? Either way, it's awesome.

If I'm not in error, in few E3 videos of Rayman Origins, characters had different abilities that could be purchased with Lums like in Rayman Revolution, but that got totally scrapped in the end. What if they recycle the idea for now?

I'd like that they returned the punch-throw as main attack for Rayman, like in R1.I really don't like the little punches, because they are too weak to actually kill someone in RO,so they'll be even weaker in RL if the enemies are more resistant.Too,the only attack I ended up using was the dash attack, because it was the only strong one, along with the punch charge+throw, but it didn't look as cool as in R1 and it was very slow to wait till the punch is charged. For health,I'd bring back R2's system instead of having the heart one.Or maybe R1's one could work too, with the P's and all that.I liked the speedrun,I always try to run as fast as possible in platformers but I always die.Anyway, that sure made RO shorter, and, although I enjoyed running through levels,I'd make the game slower and harder, like in R1.

Too,bosses were ridiculously easy in RO.So now,I'd make harder ones, with more moves.

Moskito should appear, but should have less levels.First one was fun,but it was pretty much tedious for me to have one in every world. They were good, but I didn't like having so many.

As for Lums,I'd bring back the recover-Lums-to-save-the-heart-of-the-world utility and stop using them as Mario coins. It makes teh game more...normal.Death Coins should be removed, and they should bring back the find-the-six-cages objective and stop with getting Lums and doing time trials ones, because I don't see how beating a time can free an electoon, and I can't see why the Magician had electoons and Rayman didn't fight him either.

They should have less stages, but bigger ones onstead, like in R1.

I'd stop with the stereotypical levels, like sea swimming ones, desert ones, forest ones, the fire ones...they are straight from Mario ones and this makes teh game less original.LoTLD and Moody Clouds were pretty original ones, nevertheless.

I'd put more R2/R3-ish music, which creates a more magical athmosphere and gives the game a more serious look, which is cool,Rayman should know the world is in danger, and he isn't as young as in R1,should be more mature in my opinion.

I'd actually DO give it a plot, which would be serious and would make you do things like going to talk to the fairies, then they tell you to go ask glutes for help, and they take you to a place where Greenbottles tell you that some important character, such as Sssam, has been trapped in a place and you have to save him,so he takes you somewhere in a watersky level...That would include subplots, such as bonus levels, like Walk of Life in R2.

I'd take back spiral doors to symbolize levels, and they'd turn reddish pink like in R2 when you had everything in that level.

I'd include,as Easter Egg,for example some version of Rayman 1's first Pink Plant Woods' theme and Rayman 2's Hall of Door theme.Probably in that of Social Game.

Those are all things I can think off I'd include int he game.Feel free to comment, same if you agree or if you disagree. It was pretty fun thinking all this up.

I agree, I wasn't a big fan of the Moskito levels in RO. One, there pretty tedious and weren't that much fun. Two, it's too ahrd to get Lum medals, even with friends.

I disagree. Although I think the levels could have at least hade more impact, I was fine with the levels.

Before you get all excited, does anyone actually know that Michel is developing this game? If he is not, this game will be bad.

I think Moskito had enough glory for this time. It's time for other "vehicles" to return. Ssssam would be great, for example, any idea would be perfect to change the formula, the Mario Galaxy series did this, the first game had a rideable ray while the second one had a buzzard; changing the dynamics turns sequels into best sellers.

Let's be honest, You perfecly know that's not gonna happen in Rayman Legends... even purple lums are currency now... which I find pretty weird
TeensieKing wrote: They should have less stages, but bigger ones onstead, like in R1.
Agree with the bigger stages, disagree with the less stages. Do you know how long it took me to beat Rayman Origins at 100%? like only 2 days, seriously. I want more levels, I want bigger levels, and this will obviously happen because this time the game offers DLC!! (or toys or wathever) I'm completely hyped about the replay value of this game and it's online services.

I love steampunk, the moody clouds ruled, though I have to disagree with the "fire ones". The concept of a crazed mexican world hidden underground was absolutely creative, instead of some random volcano or cave with fire.

Michel, I know you're reading this, you always send one of your Ubisoft spies to read the forums of the Pirate Community. DON'T DENY IT, YOU DO IT, MOTHERF*CKER, so please, please, listen to your fans and give Rayman Legends an epic plot, do it for your fans... You're misinterpretating the stages thing.Stages are the sections of each level.I meant less different rooms for each level, but bigger longer ones.Like instead of having,idk,10 rooms, have 5 bigger ones in a level.I hate having to go trough those doors so many times.

The Desert of Dijiridoos was a very creative and original environment in my opinion, and so was the Gourmand Land (at least for the fiery part).

I know, but so much ice-world,fire-world,desert-world...they made they really creative, but I hope they make something different this time.Just too Mario-ish for me.Well, tbh, forest would be a keeper. It appeares in every Rayman game,so no point removing.

I was a bit disappointed by the jungle in Origins, which wasn't very original in my opinion, especially when compared to the Dream Forest from the first game.

It had a little of everything to it, but yeah, it was far more focused on timing, momentum and precise jumps than anything else. I really think Legends should have less focus on this. It should still be there of course, but taking the back seat this time around. Having exploration be the main focus would be awesome, and so would having the biggest challenge being the enemies rather than the spikes and the bottomless pits.

Adding hit points would allow them to do so much more with the combat system, such as making enemies more intelligent and hostile, making boss battles last longer, as well as having surprise minibosses in areas where you usually wouldn't expect them, such as guarding a cage. Maybe some (larger) enemies could have special weak points that you'd need to attack. Maybe you would have to use specific moves to take some enemies out. Maybe bonus bosses could be this game's Tricky Treasures.

They work as checkpoints though, so I don't think having less of them would be a good idea. Unless of course there is a new checkpoint system, but then there wouldn't really be a point in having doors...

The jungle levels of Rayman Origins were too green. In Rayman 1 you could see more than just green: you had more purple and yellow, and ocasionally red and blue. This colourful flora made Rayman 1's Dream Forest have a unique atmosphere that wasn't repeated in Rayman Origins. I think in Rayman Origins' jungle levels, it felt too Earth-alike. Like if you were actually playing in Africa or Amazonas!

Let me recount how many playable characters were scrapped:
Uglette, the Magician, a Robot Teensie, Tarrayzan, the Ice Teensy, Ice Teensette, the orange Teensie Wizard. Did I forget someone?

Like, yeah, this game deserves TONS of new playable characters, 10 new characters at least, and a Smash Bros-styled menu, the Snoring Tree was a horrible place for players to pick a character.
