Do you honestly have to really ask? Seriously?
Anyway... I need to get some scratches removed off my Rayman 1 disc for the PS1.

@Fifo, what was the point of all that? Lying is bad and you should know that!
@Fifo2, because you lied to us and didn't want to confirm that until OCG.
@Tech, Fine let's say we both figured it and I noticed you care for proper audio a lot
@Hoodcum, Toothpaste helps

Do I need to change my username or something?
Toothpaste on a disc? Seriously?

Huh, toothpaste on disc actually rings a bell, don't know if that's actually a thing though.

Okay, so then I'll just use my character name then.
Okay, so then what kind of tooth paste... there's a bunch of various kinds.

Plain toothpaste, non-whitening, non-freshening, etc. would probably be the best bet. That said, I'm unfamiliar with the chemical principles on which this is founded. Also, I wonder if it would work as well for black PS1 CDs.

I did hear about that rumour before but I am not sure if that's a good idea.

I can say that it does work. CD's and DVD's have multiple layers for protection, which can get scratched. The toothpaste probably smoothes these scratches enough to make the disc playable again.

Game shops have machines which can do it.

This sounds like that rumour about microwaving your GPU. My old 9800 GTX has been busted for years, and I still don't want to try it.

Microwaving a GPU? I've heard the toothpaste one, but this is new.

Pretty obvious, is it not?

I've done the toothpaste thing in the past and it works fairly well. Also I heard it from my grandmother some years ago, so it's not quite on the same level as that!

Yeah, but if you don't want to pay, toothpaste actually does work. I've tried it several times.

When I was little kid, I tried it with a blank disc as an experiment and it did not work for me.
