Re: How's the weather?
Sorry for double posting guys
I’ve heard the stereotype of English weather too many times, but we are quite literally having the worst rain I can remember currently. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Re: How's the weather?
Well, there was an orange rainfall alert in the two southernmost counties of Ireland on Friday. I work very near the south coast so I was experiencing it

Oh wow
did it happen?
It’s cleared up a bit now, but I still feel the water running down my back
I was a bit too late to get inside

Re: How's the weather?
Yeah, it made for some interesting driving conditions. I was down at 60 km/h for a lot of the way home (hey, I'd better get used to it since they're talking about reducing the speed limit to 60 on most of those roads anyway
)

Re: How's the weather?
Honestly it wasn't that bad overall, so you're probably getting hit worse

Re: How's the weather?
It's still around 30ºC here. We experienced a very heavy rain on Tuesday and, as Plum said, driving conditions were... Special
. Despite that, it's still hot here and I don't think it's gonna change too much in 2/3 weeks.

Oh, what is an orange rainfall alert? Is that just the color of the alert or.....? I know I sound silly asking this but I'm curious.PluMGMK wrote: Sun Sep 17, 2023 1:49 pm Well, there was an orange rainfall alert in the two southernmost counties of Ireland on Friday. Yes, it's the colour of the alert, not the rain! The Jonster wrote: Sun Sep 17, 2023 5:35 pmOh, what is an orange rainfall alert? Is that just the color of the alert or.....? Re: How's the weather?
I guess if you had a shower of rain in a neon-lit street it would look orange

Re: How's the weather?
The weather's been quite nice as of late, but it's very hot in my room at night. I've got a fan on so I don't know why. Maybe my room's just weird. I wish we could get a little more rain.

Re: How's the weather?
Today's weather was very reasonable, we were able to go for a brisk walk without jackets!
(A little off-topic: I'm curious as to why you abbreviate "though" as "thou", which technically is an archaic second-person singular pronoun and pronounced differently. Wouldn't "tho" be even quicker and more natural? Or are there dialects where "tho" and "though" would not be pronounced the same?

Re: How's the weather?
Nah it just depends on the mood I’m in when making a post
Its currently 14° but rather wind and the sky is rather dim, guess you can expect that from 6 in the morning

Re: How's the weather?
There's a big thunderstorm tonight, but it's still hot... Hopefully it will stop before I drive to work
