May i ask, when exactly the hoodboom disappears? What loose gems do you take? So far as i recall, the hoodboom only disappears, when you kill an enemy (i guess it was the elite monger). So, in a test i could get the gems from the secret room, the yellow gems and the green gem from the cages and also the gems from the piggybank near the long ladder and after that the hoodboom was still there.
As for the last combo, to my knowledge we have to take the matuvu after collecting the 3 yellow gems near the lever, while the elite monger is shooting at you. For the same amount of points it could be easier to take the matuvu immediately after killing the hoodstyler (you have to zoom in on it). Then weaken the elite monger, while converting the lums and while taking the gem on this and the next platform. Kill the elite monger, convert the lums etc. ...

About FC:
As i said in my previous post, it´s probably possible to improve the ending of the matuvu combo in FC2 by either 20 or 40 points. I´ve found out that those 40 points are possible.
(To make the improvement more understandable, at first some clarifications: After you take the last gem on the trampolines, you fall down. Down there you can see 3 red gems on some mushrooms, 5 yellow gems on the ground (i´ll call the lowest gem „1st gem on the ground“ and the gem, what is nearest to the bridge „5th gem on the ground“), 1 red gem behind a stone, a matuvu and 3 yellow gems on the bridge (i´ll call the gem as you enter the bridge „1st gem on the bridge“))
The ending of the matuvu combo:
After falling down: 1st and 2nd gem on the ground, 1 of 3 red gems, 3rd, 4th and 5th gem on the gound, 1st gem on the bridge, red gem, 2nd gem on the bridge, matuvu, 3rd gem on the bridge, 2 of 3 red gems.
Also the idea for the improved improved dwarf combo works.
The beginning is the same until you break the 2nd of the 3 dwarfs in the middle of the room. Then instead of breaking the 3rd dwarf as well, break the dwarf on the left side of the huge hollow trunk, take the gem and send a curved shot to the last of the 3 dwarfs. Take the gem and send a curved shot to the „more hidden“ dwarf on the right side of the trunk (it´s possible to do this without breaking the near dwarf). The rest is the same.
→ Dwarf combo: Basic: 270 - Combo: 840 - Total: 1110
There is also an improvement in part 4, but it is extremely hard, because you need to perform a SJ during a combo. Although i´m almost sure, that noone will ever play this combo, i´ll write the idea down:
You start with the gem after the gems on the ceiling. Then you roll off (or simply fall down), take the other single gem, roll off (again) and kill the hoodblaster in combo. Now take the vortex and perform a SJ to reach the 3 gems on the ceiling. After that simply take all the gems, lower the 2 mushrooms and take the matuvu.
