My brother isn't being exactly helpful...he said it was "insignificant" and "just a website".

Usually if you visit your own page there should be a blue square that gives a reason. I know it sucks but they have to ban under 13s because it's under US law no matter where you are, and boy do Americans like to sue if their precious 10 year old sees something nasty on there. It's likely that they'll reopen it as soon as you turn 13.
