What are the best version of the original Star Wars films? Really want to watch them, but I want to see the best versions.

It's a funny little issue, that. Many would consider the original theatrical releases to be the best, without any post-release changes made. Han shot first, and all that. To be honest, in the grand scheme of things, I don't think it's quite so bad. There are a few things which I think were better off not being added, but overall, you'll still get the same general gist.
Also, just be aware that it's Episodes 4 - 6 which are the original Star Wars films. 1 - 3 are known as the Prequel trilogy.

I'm gonna call that bullshit, the remastered version brought many improvements, like that :
Or like that :
Nah, for me the remastered releases are the best.

Yeah, those issues were the ones that are conflicting me. I will try and see if I can find the original films (Episodes 4-6) in their original theatrical state.

Not so sure about Jabba, but I'll agree about the Emperor. I don't like the excessive use of CGI in some additions though. There is some I do like, as they add to scenes, but others feel like they were added for padding and don't really add so much to me.
It's a very draw your own conclusions thing, to be honest. Perhaps try watching the most recent rereleases (2011 bluray), and the originals, and see what you think.

Yep, I decided to go with the watching the very originals. I skimmed through some comparison videos and I was teetered onto the side that were defending the originals.

Maybe watch both? At least you'll know which one you think is best, not others.
I'm not even sure which ones I've seen myself...

My stepmom used to own a pretty high quality VHS of Return of the Jedi, but I hardly know where one would find something like that nowadays.

I can't find the original versions of Star Wars anywhere online. Or I'm not trying hard enough. I think I may have to watch the 2011 remasterings.

I usually hiss whenever I see something I dislike (e.g see a black person or a Jew), but I am not a snake. No siree, nope.
