I've tried it out, and indeed it's possible to break piggy, take the red gem, then roll into the yellow gems from the piggy.
The new combo would then look like: take 4 out of 5 gems around the tree, break the piggy, take the red gem, take 6 yellow gems from the piggy, and then continue as usual. This will bring us to this combo:
YYYYP|RYYYY|YYHYY|YYYYHb|...
This still doesn't improve anything... We would need to take all 5 gems around the tree to make an improvement. And for the love of god, I can't figure out how I lured the 2nd Hoodblaster closer to me... It happened to me once, the first time I was doing BoM for points, then it never happened again.
Edit: Now I remember what I did before. After killing the 2nd Slapdash, I went clock-wise around the tree to reach the Hoodblaster quicker. This means I can kill him to keep the combo alive, but it also means I have bigger distance to run before I reach the Spinning Metalhead. This route is actually very hard, it's nearly impossible on normal playthrough. But if I can make it work again, this means a 60 points improvement in BoM2.
Edit2: I did it! It was possible after all. The combo goes like this: get hit by slapdash once (-1 point), jump and fly away from Slapdash - when you're in the air, grab the Lockjaw. It's possible to get the Lockjaw while only losing 1 point (but it's so hard I don't recommend it). Now collect all 5 Yellow Gems around the tree, make sure to strafe around the last one to get as close to the bridge as possible. Send a curved shot to the piggy, jump onto the mushroom, grab the Red Gem while doing a sharp turn near the edge, roll off the mushroom to land on the island (not in water), roll into the Yellow Gems from the piggy, collect all 6 of them, kill the Hoodblaster, take the Vortex, go into water to reach the island with Yellow Gems, you will get bitten by fish once (-2 points), grab 6 Yellow Gems, kill the Hoodboom, renew Vortex, shoot the 1st Mushroom while jumping towards it, shoot the next Mushroom, grab the Red Gem, kill the Slapdash on the right, grab the Lockjaw without getting hit (possible but hard), roll off onto mushroom, lock-on the last Slapdash, jump back, send a curved shot towards the Slapdash, helicopter to the next mushroom, roll off to reach the island (don't touch water, it will waste time), go clock-wise and kill the Hoodblaster at the last possible moment, go onto bridge and send a curved shot to the Spinning Armor, swing to the next platform, grab the Matuvu, break the piggy, take all 6 Yellow Gems inside the Trunk, make sure you don't take fall damage (helicopter at the last possible moment - you will still grab the Yellow Gem underground and take no damage).
Combo:
YYYYY|PRYYY|YYYHY|YYYYY|HoMuMuRS SHSpMaP YYYYY Y = 2320 points (element) + 8900 points (combo) - 3 points (damage) = 11217 points
After that, activate PCM and take the Yellow Gem under the big tree = 20 points.
Points in BoM1: 5280 points (5280 points total)
Points in BoM2: 11237 points (16517 points total).
@1234: Can I ask how to make 1 Mudman in BoM3 survive? Does this mean the Hoodblaster gets hit once if the Mudman survives?
