So, no General and pre-Henchmans?

Besides, the concept of Hyperborea (well chosen name!) sounds very interesting. Is this thing bigger than the Buccaneer or comparable?

No, he means that his writing style isn't as good as it is now. Not that the information in it is incorrect.

Oh no, not even close. It's simply a large warship. A lot bigger than the little scouts ones you see chasing you Rayman 2, but not nearly the size of the Buccaneer. Think of it as about the size of and serving a similar purpose to an aircraft carrier, but it also has its own guns.

Enough description, it is what it is. :P

Just look at how tiny the top of the mast is comparatively to the rest of the ship, and how humongously huge it is when you fight Razorbeard on it!
Come to think of it, the debris of that ship after the explosion must have seriously deformed the landscape.

It makes me wish to see a Buccaneer ruins level, much like the Stadium ruins in Jak 3, it'd be a nice way to have a few call backs while still having a unique level.
Also, something I've always wanted, was to have Rayman find and repair the Grolgoth, and use it to face Razorbeard in a Grolgoth II atop the ruins of the Buccaneer.

That's exactly what made me realise it's so fucking big! However, I can safely say that it's still not as big as ur mom

Now I was already planning on something similar being included in my own game, but Rayman wouldn't be controlling a Grolgoth. Maybe I'll see if that could work out.

So almost like a MechWarrior kind of thing?

It's maybe because of the mythological name that I linked it with something enormous and epic.

Fully agreed! Yeah, no wonder Razorbeard conquered over 100 worlds. All the warships and henchman that this Behemoth can hold inside...

A Buccaneer ruins level sounds very interesting. Think about all the treasures which where on board the ship, not only from Rayman's world but from all worlds Razorbeard conquered. Fucking enormous in every way!

Well, hate to rain on your parade guys, but ROTD takes place before Rayman 2, so the Buccanneer hasn't invaded yet. :S

It would have been really interesting though, dotting a larger map with pieces of shipwreck here and there.

Maybe for a Rayman 2.5.

However, can't wait to see the Buccaneer in construction.

Isn't it just in transit conquering other worlds in the universe? The Buccaneer wasn't constructed in the Glade, but somewhere distant.
Anyways, I know RoTD's place in the timeline, what I said was merely me stating a concept I'd like to see in general, not in RoTD.

That was the problem I asked several posts before. There has to be a significant amount of time between 1, 1.5 and 2 in which Razorbeard makes his conquests. I wouldn't see any ideas concerning the Buccaneer fitting into the timeline as well but it's interesting to read about them nonetheless.

I'd assume it was constructed in some obscure location, same as the robots actually, y'know, I'd love for them to show us where the robots actually did come from, we know that they conquered over 100 worlds, but where did they begin? How'd they find the Glade of Dreams in the first place?

Very good question. Well, Razorbeard starts off in Rigatoni's circus and after the circus is no more he starts of his baddie career. It's not impossible that the Buccaneer could be created in the Glade of Dreams in some secret place and that Razorbeard maybe just has to leave because of some events happening during 1.5 or generally between 1 and 2. Another possibility would be that the robot-pirates and the Buccaneer weren't intended for Razorbeard at all but for Dark Rayman's army (hence the description of the level "The Prison Ship"). However, that would make Razorbeard a less badass character, he just has to develop from Rigatoni's sidekick to the pirate overlord we see in Rayman 2 in some way. On the other side, to steal/capture/take over such a mammoth project makes this much more interesting because this starts of a whole serious of events to come which culminate in Rayman 2.

Fuck Razorbeard in the circus, it's a stupid idea and entirely non-canon in my head. I know I used to embrace the idea, but now I realise how much of a ruthless badass Razorbeard is and should remain.

I know I've mentioned this fic quite a lot, but I sort of envision it to be like Rayfan's Piranha; if you replace her written general Anaconda with Razorbeard, I picture the story as sort of a tale of what would have happened had not been able to escape the Prison Ship at the beginning.

Indeed, as much as I enjoyed RTAS, I don't consider it, nor any elements it held canon, I'd rather Razor and his cronies come from some obscure place in the cosmos.

Honestly, there were two things I liked about RTAS. They were Lacmac, he was the only character who had a good design in my opinion, and I would be happy if he still appeared in the game. The other was Aeropolis. It was an interesting mix of natural and produced environments, though the problem was that they didn't really explore it that much, and I'd love to see it fully explored. The rest of the series can go burn for all I care.
