Go to START > Run... and then type in "msconfig". On the tab named "Services", tick the box labelled "Hide all Microsoft services". Now deselect all. Reselect any services you may find extremely crucial, like Antivirus, but leave as many blank as you can. Then head over to the "Startup" tab. Disable everything and continue in the same way as with the other tab. Click Apply and OK and now reboot your computer. This should shut down all unnecessary services and programs and will help you narrow down the problem. Now start selecting startup programs again, adding half of the remaining blank boxes at a time. Use the least suspicious ones (the ones you
know should work) as a guideline. Reboot and repeat. If your PC now gets a blue screen again, you know the program that's causing it is within the last few you selected. Maybe it's the program itself, maybe it's conflicting with another program you selected earlier. Either way, you've narrowed down the results.
If this doesn't get you anywhere, Google is your friend - no, Google is your best friend. Ask them, and they will answer. There are many before you who have had BSoD's and there will be many after you (alas), but at least there's a good number of experts out there who can help you.
However, if you come across some kind of forum posts that tell you to download some program or something, I'd be wary and look for other solutions first. First of all, downloading one program in reaction to another is not a good idea. Second, that program you're downloading is most likely a virus.
Good luck.

Thanks. These things are what you should probably always do first when you encounter such problems. Also, if you notice you have lots and lots of services and/or programs running or even present in that list, maybe it's time to think about removing some. Clutter can seriously mess up your computer in unexpected ways. You should also do a registry clean, if possible, quite regularly. That will keep your Windows computer (Macs don't have a registry to bother about) more than happy.
