That's because in the PC version, when you select for an install, you have to pick the one that CONTAINS THE VIDEO. XD It doesn't just read it off the CD, for whatever reason. Probably just to increase speed.

How did you get Designer and Gold to work on your PC?

I actually got my copy from a friend. There was also a second I bought from Media Player for $1 (used games section) for one of my friends. Both were PC versions. Though what's interesting is that one is a "The Learning Company" version, but it's not an educational Rayman game. The one I first received was an original 1995 release.

I got my copy of Rayman for Christmas in 2000. My folks tried to troll me by putting it in a grotty old box.

I received mine New Years of 2000, actually. I never really played Rayman or tried any of the games until then... Just played it on my friend's PC that night, asked if I could borrow it, and he said I could keep it. And that, my friends, is how I came to be a Rayman fan.

I got Rayman 2 first, and 3 weeks into playing it, "The Sanctuary of Stone and Fire" became my least favourite level.
Getting back on topic, has anyone seen the original storyline for Rayman 1? How he is just a normal kid called Jimmy who gets warped into a videogame world and becomes Rayman?
Does anyone think that was a good piece of storyline or prefers the current story?

It was determined quite a while ago that it was a Jaguar-specific story bit in an advertisement. I don't know if the original story was intended that way, but I'm glad it never continued from that.

Nah, I think the current is better too. Even if it doesn't give us all that many leads, at least it gives a lot of space that can be fulfilled by people. 83

That original story was awful...but it makes you think; they only scrapped the original story shortly before release of the game, so they must have made R1 while thinking of the original story!

I swear learning about that original plot is like being shown Goatse for the first time. D=

And about the original plot: It really sucks. It sounds like a Mario rip-off, only very lame. The idea of a naturally perfect world that gets ruined by and evil wizard, and a lost hero who must fight him is much better than the idea of a boy who gets sucked into his computer and starts screwing around for no reason.

Good thing they changed it into the mysterious, action packed adventure that we all love.
