What about Jano? He had quite a creepy laugh as well.

I actually find Jano really goofy and amusing now, though I admit the chase sequence with him was kind of scary back in the day.
His laugh never bothered me though. I can see why people would find it creepy, and would be fitting in a Halloween sound effects collection, but I don't find it that bad for some strange reason, and never did.

Hm, while I don't mind any of them now, I was a very young kid, and seeing those Mini-Jano's eat Rayman like so:
Was rather horrific to my younger mind.

I remember that too, but I was immune to that due to seeing other scary stuff, in games and otherwise.
Though in my most recent playthrough of the game, I didn't remember that could happen, so when it happened, I laughed at how absurd it was that it made it into a kid friendly game. Rayman's face makes it, the poor guy is absolutely terrified!

It's interesting, seeing as Rayman 2 isn't usually praised for its modelling, that they were able to get such expressions.

I think Rayman himself was modelled impressively for the time. Most other characters don't have near the level of detail he has, though, especially regarding expressions. This is likely because he has such a simple design, though.

True, in fairness, I grew up with the PS1 version, so detail wasn't as big as it was in that video, which is the PC version.

I grew up with the PS1 version, fully completed the game for the first time on PC, and not long after, completed the PS1 version via emulator.

Hm, I can't remember when I beat the PS1 version, but I did beat it first.
The first time I owned the PC version, I got stuck and never beat the final boss on it, it was only a few years later, where I was able to get it working on a computer, that I found myself capable of beating it.
Seeing that you've played both versions, which version of the final boss do you prefer? I've always liked the PS1 one on one final boss a lot more than the finisher in the other versions.

Oh, the PSone version's final boss, by faaaaar. It may not be very original, but it's at least fun, and a decent Star Fox clone.
I hated the final boss in the PC version, even if it's more original. Overall, I much prefer the PC version, but that final boss is awkward as hell, and very drawn out unless you know the Infinite Ammo secret (which I didn't).

I prefer the PC version overall, but I do find some of the PS1 differences to be interesting and worthwhile enough to check it out.
As for the final boss, I too prefer the PS1 version, it just feels more satisfying to beat Razor on equal ground as opposed to him clinging and you essentially finishing him off in a long and drawn out collect ammo and dodge homing bullets routine, with a bit of rising lava to make things slightly interesting.

I just felt the PC final boss was not well designed at all. The camera is far from ideal in those tight tunnels, and those homing missiles are just annoying and give you an excuse to swerve around to get them off your back, drawing the fight out longer, rather than making it more challenging. And the handling on your rocket friend wasn't built for those tight tunnels with the bars all over the place. And I did actually get a bit of a headache because of all of the swerving I had to do (and I rarely get headaches from games or swift motions, so I'm not especially prone to it).
And yeah, you were right about the PS1 version being worth a playthrough in general, some of the level design changes are interesting.

Indeed, the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire was certainly changed to a significant degree.

Honestly, Clark is one of the most creepy non-evil character I have ever seen.

I said creepy, not scary. His big chin makes him look really weird and I think that's creepy.
