Refer to the Dreamcast version of Rayman 2 and the PC version of Rayman 3 when asking questions which vary upon versions

What’s the reasoning behind selecting the Dreamcast port of Rayman 2 as the ‘main’ version? A lot more people have played the N64, PC and/or DS versions, which are the original, unembellished ones. The Dreamcast and 3DS versions are better, but they are not the standard and shouldn’t be treated as such.

Well, as long as I know, DC version = PC version + gems + Eig + DLC. On the other hand, both PS versions and GBC versions are notably different. So if you are asking a question about DC version specific stuff, it's obvious, and if you are asking about PS specific stuff, well, it's not unless you note it.

It is always good to specify the versions if there have particular differences.

The 3DS port is weaker than the original Dreamcast version itself. The original PC version is better than the Nintendo 3DS port.

Cannot disagree. But I understand the rule as "default = DC". If it really means you can't ask about any other version, well, why?

I just chose the Dreamcast version because I felt the best information could be extracted from it, and as far as I knew it was the most familiar among our members, but if other versions are more suitable I can easily change this.

Remember, I only implemented this rule to prevent there from being multiple correct answers; I wasn't trying to place certain versions above others. And Stan, one can ask questions that refer to other versions, but when asking general R2 questions, stick to the 'default' version to avoid confusion.

I agree with Spiral, which is why the reference version in the seasons I host is always Rayman 2 for PC. In any case, the quizmaster is free to choose any (widespread) version as a reference.
