Somehow I didn't realize that animation existed in Rayman 1

It certainly is used a lot more in the educational games… but how did this glitch even happen?

I think it's a level edit rather than a glitch!

Yeah wasn't a glitch, just a joke level edit.

It's not really an unused animation, it's always been like that even in Designer, if you place a bottomless pit type above rayman he'll carry the momentum and direction of his last jump, so if you had the mallet that bounces you up high he'd do that animation but be launched up higher.

Yeah, I'm familiar with the animation from both Edu and Designer (and bloody By His Fans ) but I don't remember ever seeing it in Rayman 1. At one point I wondered if there were any falling types at all in Rayman 1, but I eventually realized (with the help of Ray1Map) there were some in the frying pan level. I guess I just never fell off in any of the high places where those falling types are

Makes sense, a glitch like that would be more than surprising. In fact, the game is pretty robust.
