I love Rayman 3's interpretation of the Glade of Dreams and feel like it tends to be a little underrated here on PC. The environments sparked a lot of "I wonder what's in the distance there" thinking in me back when I first played it as a bab, and the soundtrack is great - They actually took the time to make that beautiful rendition of the Fairy Council theme or to have different music play after defeating Begoniax, both very short segments where you wouldn't mind if they'd just continued the previous music.
I think a good example of Rayman 3's dedication to its art direction is the Hall of Mirrors - An area that required original assets and music, only to spend like 10 seconds in it. Could've easily been cut out and it wouldn't have made the game any worse.
I'm surprised that considering they took on the "hip and cool" approach they chose to keep Rayman situated in a still very magical world. I don't think the Madder intro cutscene reflects the game very well. But that might also be why the game has aged much better than its competitors (For example, a mascot like Blinx feels horribly dated), which is another thing no one talks about: Rayman 3 still really holds up, even visually.

All seriousness, the art direction in Rayman 3 is a lovely little mix of Rayman 1 and 2 to me, and it works very well in the world. The music, visuals and environment are all part of why replaying that game is still a joy every time.

Rayman 3 is on my top 10 list. The music, the story, the visuals. Everything about it drew me in and kept me going for hours on end. I want to see another 3D Rayman game like this pop up someday. There's something about it that drew me to it. I think it was because of Rayman 2, which I'm playing through right now. The worlds that this series is set in is just full of wonder and mystery.

I think if the Rayman Game Survey is anything to go by, Rayman 3 is actually rather well appreciated, even if it doesn't get as much attention, or is as highly rated as Rayman 2.

It's a very good game indeed! It's just that the magic touch was less present than in Rayman 2.

While that might be so, I feel locations like the Fairy Council, Land of the Livid Dead and the Summit Beyond the Clouds surpass the vast majority of Rayman 2's locales.

Do you mean a new 3D Rayman game wants us too?

I wonder what Murfy thinks about Rayman 4, 14 years later...

Eh, he was a guest star. His breakout role was in Rayman 5.

Well, maybe he has got a girlfriend with "great, big…eh…eyes now" so I don't think he would care much about Rayman 4.

Well, he did end up returning in Origins and Legends, though without the snark and degrading attitude. Perhaps he instead found a stable and mutual relationship.

I'm wondering with whom could Murfy have a relationship with now.
