Re: Dreams about Rayman...
Okay, I just had a fun one.
I dreamt I was in the Glade of Dreams, and many trees seemed...huge. At least five times the size. Not all of them were like that though. The only species that seemed different were the glutes, who weren't red or blue, but a mix of this, not purple though, while Globox was entirely blue himself. Females were pink and cyan. because the trees were so big, they made carts and tools of wood and the trees were hollowed out to make houses of them. lots of the people often seemed to be sitting around, having a good time, and the grass was very soft. But the place I was at didn't seem to have much water around. The world I dreamed of was litteraly something magical.
Just remembered, I met Rayman too, but he was sleeping.

Re: Dreams about Rayman...
I dreamt that I got the Rayman Origins Collectors Book and it contained:
-An art book consisting of Artwork from all 4 main Rayman games (RO,R1,R2,R3)
-A retelling of all Rayman's adventures with accordance to RO's retcons
-A Demo Disk for R4
-A Table Ornament
And of course, the game itself, wrapped in a case of amazing artwork.

Re: Dreams about Rayman...
I had a dream just this night that I was in some sort of store and there were some Rayman stuff, like those paper things you put on the doorknob to make people go away (I remember it being with the Granny pointing with her finger as if she was saing ''go away!'') and also some kind of weird Spiraldoor which spins and lights up, and 2 other things.
That would be cool.
That would be cool.
Re: Dreams about Rayman...
Ah yes, Rayman dreams...I've had so many in my life time I can hardly remember them all. One that was of particular interest (for being really weird) I actually wrote down the day after. The description goes into some detail, so I'll abridge it a little.
Rayman and the Inter-universal Portal:
So I think this whole thing was meant to be Rayman Raving Rabbids or something. I believe that was what was implied at the beginning of the dream. Rayman was walking through this weird world of swirly vortex stuff as random maths questions and numbers flew around. At the end of this there was a door, and Rayman goes through it, only to find this small messy room with a bunk bed, computer, posters and a chest of drawers. The room was being shared by three random Goths and an uber geek. The geek had long brown hair, round glasses (, a chin strip beard with stubble and a red t-shirt with a white number 10 on it. For some reason Rayman was quite small compared to all the random people. There was this bit where Rayman said “you are well aware that there’s an inter-universal portal through that door?” and then the nerd seems to think that this is some kind of role play game or something and acts as if this is perfectly normal. Rayman opens the door and then he’s all “AAAGH THERE’S AN INTER-UNIVERSAL PORTAL THROUGH THE DOOR!”. For some reason in the middle there was this really hazy weird bit where Rayman and the Nerd were just kind of floating on a light blue and light purple marble swirled background while Skops circled around them saying blurred stuff that probably made sense at the time I was asleep I guess
. At the end of the dream something or other made the nerd laugh this ridiculously dorky laugh. We then hear some random American Teenage girl with an annoying voice outside from the window doing this really awful impersonation of the laugh as her friends laugh. Rayman then says “What’s a *impersonates impersonation of laugh*?” The nerd responds by saying that they are the T.E.E.N.S (don’t ask what it stands for, I don’t know…) and they are the really popular kids. Rayman says “So this game is basically all about High school cliques?…..With Rabbids!”. I then woke up like this
A few days later, I found this Garry's Mod add-on map which looks really really similar to the place in the dream....weird...

I did have quite a lot of dreams involving Rayman, a large quantity consisted of Mini-Jano or Henchmen coming to get me, oh how Terrifying I found them in my youth.Electoon wrote:Ah yes, Rayman dreams...I've had so many in my life time I can hardly remember them all. Re: Dreams about Rayman...
That's quite an interesting story.
I had one a few years back. I was playing Rayman 2, but like Rayman 1, you needed all the cages to face the final level. I was getting so frustrated because I couldn't find the last cage, and it wouldn't tell me what level it was in. I was standing outside of the Marshes of Awakening in the Hall of Doors, and I noticed this large lily pad sitting to the left of it, so I tried moving in its direction. To my surprise, Rayman jumped onto the lily pad, nut it collapsed on him, flipping over. A current sucked Rayman down into the deep, wide water of the Hall of Doors, where he began drowning, making the sound "ackt, ackt, ackt!" Suddenly at the last second he got zapped away (where he turns into the coloured energy), then he was a pitch black room. He felt around and felt wet, dripping steel. A hand reached out and said "help." Rayman enclosed the hand in his own and said "don't worry, I'll get you out off there," then blasted the cage apart. Moskito flew out. The next scene then showed Rayman riding on Moskito charging toward Dark Rayman with a glowing fist (who was riding Dark Moskito) in the middle of a clouded thunderstorm. It was a truly epic dream, and it's inspired in Rayman 1.5.

I envy your ability to dream up such epics, my mind has a penchant for making my dreams hell.RayFan9876 wrote:That's quite an interesting story.

Re: Dreams about Rayman...
Well, we forget all the dreams we have but the ones we had just before we woke up, or the ones that were so truly mentally inspiring that our mind decided to keep them for at least until you wake up. Maybe you have cool dreams all the time, but just don't remember them ... I can't imagine which is worse, actually.Master4lyf1 wrote:I envy your ability to dream up such epics, my mind has a penchant for making my dreams hell.
When I have a really cool dream, the one thing I remember about it is that it had AWE-SOME music. For example, one time, long ago in memories now far far away, I dreamt I was on this moving train, y'know, movie style cliche. I don't quite remember what it was like, probably chasing some bad guy or trying to outrun the train whilst on top of it, which was frequently part of my dream for some absurd reason, surely. However, I remember it had the most amazing of action-like music, swinging bass, heavy drums, guitar... wow. I wish I could recall what it was like, but it sure imprinted a great feel of satisfaction when I woke up to what I now remember to be a happy ending - usually in my later sleep phases, just before one wakes up, I would (subconciously) force a happy ending to the dream to prevent it from going nightmare. This was back in the year when I still had nightmares.
I know, it's not really Rayman, but like I said, I only once dreamt of Rayman - and that story has already been told here.

Haha, my dreams never have sound or music. Only dialog. That would be wicked though if I could come up with songs in my sleep.

Oh, yes! Sometimes I wake up with the most awesome of songs in my head, which I then record with my trusty phone's mic and then I may or may not be able to turn it into a real theme! It's brilliant, that. I love waking up to music. ^^

Re: Dreams about Rayman...
Pheee-eeew, I probably do, but let me enlighten you with the proportions of things recorded on my phone: there are approximately 600 audio files on my phone in total, including the ones I did label. If one of them is from a dream I had, it will most likely be labeled so that I would know what it was for when I saw the title, but wouldn't remember it's one of the ones I woke up with. If I hadn't labeled it, well, then it's literately going to be a search for a needle in a cloud of audio files.RayFan9876 wrote:Really? I could assist you with that. Do you have them by any chance?
However, I would much love if you would assist me in the music for my own fan-game, once I start my hardcore work on it. I already have quite expansive themes, with almost all the instrumental layers plotted out or at least thought of, but there are also those that could use a lot of work or at least some variation.
Re: Dreams about Rayman...
I have had 2 dreams about Rayman, but only can remember one ^^;
I and some goodies (I think there were Rayman, Globox, the Teensies, and Ly), were spying at the Buccaneer, because there was a meeting for all the bad guys except the Rabbids, and Razorbeard was the "organizer". xDDD So then we put on some disguises, and successfully got into the meeting's room (that was so huge o_o) Actually those clothes were very funny but it seemed it looked like we were baddies too xD) So Razor was talking about... I can't remember, but then he suddenly started speaking about the weather, and his voice changed too. A few moments after I realised that the radio was turned on, so Razor's voice was actually the guy's voice from the radio xDDDD And then I woke up.
I really wanna continue this dream, it was sooo amazing. <3

Re: Dreams about Rayman...
I actually had the ability to do this. I had this stuffed tiger, which I had named Hobbes, after the tiger from 'Calvin and Hobbes' and I was able to use him as a channelling device for my dreams. If I needed to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, just after having an amazing dream, I could tell Hobbes to pause it for me - and then when I got back to bed the dream would continue like nothing had happened. I could also 'save' the dream in a gallery of ones I really liked. Then before I really went to sleep, I would enter this room in which screens depicting several dreams would float about. I would choose the one I felt like and the dream would become what I dreamt of, the exact same way it was when I first had it and the same way it always stayed.Anassy wrote:I really wanna continue this dream.
Now I think of it, that sounds quite amazing... I'm going to try if I can still cling to my favourite dreams in the same manner nowadays!

Yeah, I think it's amazing too! I've heard of some ways to get full control for your dreams, but I guess those were false... But I wish I had that ability. Oh, yes! If I had a nightmare, I could turn it right around into a nice dream. Volcanoes would be stopped by flying torches (remember, it's a dream), king cobra's could be pursuaded to have a glass of coke... pretty strange turns to dreams otherwise gone ill.

You mean lucid dreaming?
The other night, I had a dream that there was a Rayman movie. It started out telling the story of Polokus, except here, he wasn't created by lums, but he was originally a genie who lived in the real world who resembled a human. He went by the name Perseus and he was one of those genies who intentionally turns your wishes against you. Eventually, someone tricked him by wishing that everything Perseus dreamed or thought about would become true. Perseus didn't mess around with this wish because it appeared to be beneficial to him (in this universe, genies can only cast a spell if someone wishes for it, so being able to use magic for your own benefit is rare). This turned out to be a curse as his nightmares and bad thoughts also came true. To get revenge against the man who tricked him, Perseus completely destroyed the world and rebuilt it as the Glade of Dreams. He then changed his name to Polokus and took on the form of a small knaaren for some reason. That was basically the whole movie, it barely had anything to do with Rayman.
