I like the idea too, maybe the poll could be submitted on the portal instead though? Or at the top of the forums, just below the User Control Panel stuff... somehow.

Most people don't go on the Portal at all, and I can imagine people getting annoyed with it being at the top. A global announcement should be fine...

We might as well add them to the main forum itself, because those are the only real reasons for going there.
