Guess my eye didn't catch that haha

It's there, 3 times in fact since there are 3 versions of the same song.

As much as I love Rayman 1, I really don't think it'd be necessary for them to make an HD remake. The original game is practically perfect in every way (aside from the incredibly frustrating level design), and I feel as though an HD remake might take that feeling away. Unless you meant something like a rebuild with the original engine and graphics to make a smoother experience and perhaps the inclusion of a widescreen feature, like the 2011 re-release of Sonic CD. That I'd be fine with.

This is the stupidest reason for not wanting a remake I've ever seen.

Maybe it won't match up to the likes of the original, but having it itself would be awesome.

Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee is a game made in 1997 that is still perfectly playable and enjoyable today but that did not mean that a HD remake would be a bad idea. Look to the result now!

I think it could be a great bet. They could add difficulty modes to play the game, the hard being the equivalent to the 1995 game.

There's not better example than the one Haruka's said. (Waiting for the Exoddus HD Remake!)

I'd like to see if they'd use Ubiart or a new engine to make a Rayman 1 remake.

As much as I want a HD remake/Remaster, I hope ubisoft doesn't rush it and make it a failiure like their other titles.

If they were about to make a HD remake, they'd have to redraw everything... and with their current style in rl and ro, i doubt it will end up looking like the original...

They're very well connected with the fans- something a lot of fan pages don't really do. I respect that.
If you think about it, the Rayman fanbase isn't massive, you've got a lot of people that just know Rayman, acknowledge him, and have some few memories.
Then you have the fans like us who just really love the series and like to dive into the development background and such. It's a pretty divided fandom, but I'm okay with that.

You brought a tear to my eye.....

I have a bit of a strange question. I remember reading somewhere that the influence for Rayman was inspired by Greek Mythology and Chinese. Im not sure if this is true or not. Does anybody know the influence?

Wasn't it russian instead of greek?

I fear we never learnt the influences themselves.

There are Greek references, mainly the Olympus-themed levels in Legends, but nothing meaningful. We were told that "Russian, Chinese, and Celtic fairy tales" had inspired Ancel on the first (or was it second?) game, but we never figured out what they were.

I forgot to mention in my previous post that I was talking about the R1 influences since the Greek inspiration for RL is obvious.
