Rayman Forever (GBC) is the best version!

Master, nice review of Rayman Revolution.
Previously you played on PS2, right?
Is this common issue that there is no music sometimes? On PCSX2 and PS2 too, right?
Could you share with us your PC configuration, and clock?

It is a game-specific issue, it happened on PS2 as well. Really irksome design choice on their part.
As for my PC specs, the laptop I have is a Lenovo Z50-70.
Dual Core, Core i7 4510-U at 2.00 GHz (Turbo boost to 3 GHz, if memory serves)
8 GB RAM
Nvidia Geforce GT 840M

Dual Core i7 ^-^
If you're interested, you should force this CPU to keep this 3Ghz, in some way, disable energy saving options (maybe in Bios too) then hiccups should disapear. That's the conclussion of my discusion with those devs some time ago. They say that everything is good on their side, and there is no hiccups on good configuration.

Heh, it's a tempting prospect, but seeing as my laptop isn't always tethered, I'd be happy to tolerate said hiccups for the sake of power conservation. Don't want it going off in the middle of a lecture, after all.
Like I said earlier though, I don't think the hiccups are all down to my laptop's performance, Rayman Revolution was noted for being laggy at times on actual PS2 hardware, and I do recall slowdown when I was playing it on PS2. As such, I think some of the issues are inevitable, as its more a case of RR being a bit too big for its proverbial boots, so to speak.

Yes, I read. But you know, one guy said there, he didn't have any hiccups on his real i7.
And I still think that DC version looks better in overall than RR. And smoothness is like a heaven and earth. Even on same 60 FPS. And yes, maybe depends on config.

Textures-wise, I'm agreed. But I think the higher quality models and the slight increase in level decoration really give levels a bit more of a visual kick. To each their own.
Rayman 2 in 60 FPS is just dreamy, pity that RR wasn't optimised to leverage the PS2's power sufficiently, I'd think it'd have managed the Dreamcast's 60 FPS without sacrificing any detail if it had done so.
