The dangers of nuclear power are wildly overexaggerated by its opponents. Uranium fission power plants are safe, but you need a lot of energy to build the power plants and mine uranium. Hopefully, we'll discover how to build efficient fusion- or thorium fission plants soon, which will be safer and cheaper than uranium plants.

I heard somewhere that they're trying to develop a way to make nuclear waste just disappear but then again it was in the Daily Mail or something so IDK.
So FZ, what's your favourite Rayman game?

I made this post before reading Tobbe's or Stacey's, so most of it is redundant but I think I'll just leave it here anyway:
I don't think that a Homer Simpson-like bumbling idiot would ever be put in a position where the safety of a nuclear power plant rests on his shoulders. The Chernobyl disaster occurred in 1980s Soviet Russia, and I would expect a modern government to do a much better job than that one did at keeping everything safe. Presumably our knowledge of nuclear science has progressed significantly. Nuclear power is much less damaging to the environment than our current energy-sources.

Actually it was Soviet Ukraine.

They are overexaggerated, but considering that our Government are only doing it because they claim it's efficient, I just feel that they're trying to cut costs of fuel. I feel that because of this, there is some research that is being neglected, especially since they are obligated to release all information under the Freedom of Information act. It's either that or I'm just a little too cynical.

That second one with those robots. I thoroughly enjoyed that one on the Dreamcast. It's a shame that there doesn't seem to be many straightforward platformers around at the moment. They tend to be great fun.

Actually it was Soviet Ukraine.

According to Wikipedia, Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union at the time. I don't have a very clear distinction between “Soviet Union” and “Russia” in my mind.

To cut costs on fuel? That fuel you're talking about might not be around for much longer. Then what?

It still took place in Ukraine, not Russia. Saying it took place in Russia would be the same as saying that the 9/11 attacks took place in California.

There are alternatives to the fuels we're using, albeit they are slightly less efficient, but I feel that, considering that some of these don't cause as much hassle in the same areas that the current fuels do, diving straight into nuclear power is a choice made entirely for the convenience of the Government. You could argue that the other alternatives have a lot of downsides, although I do feel that these would eventually be overcome, or at least things would adjust to them. Our current fuels aren't entirely efficient, and we appear to be managing reasonably well, wouldn't you say?

I'm a bit slow there, but welcome to PC, Sam! Nice to see a fellow musician, I play guitar too.
We have quite many guitarists here actually, maybe we could record a jam or something.

Haha yeah.
On a guitarists forum I visit, they have such a jam kinda thing - people improvise over a looping backing track and send their recordings to the "host", who attaches the fragments to each other. Then a voting is organized and they choose the best improv, it's quite a fun activity.

Yeah it's up now, I kept getting ideas as I was writing though so it's kinda messy.
Always like that with music, I can speak about it all day.

Hello, everyone. Now I don't know if something is wrong with this site, but I'll have to cut back from this, just because there's a big special report in reality. So anyways, what's up everyone!
