Ah, that makes sense. It must be why so many Gameboy ROMs are designated 'UE', as those games don't need to display on PAL or NTSC televisions, since they had their own screens, and therefore there'd be no need for localisation.

As Stacey explained it is the regions (USA and Europe). There are also ROMS in which appear the U, the E and the J, easier to find out which regions are.

ever played the Japanese version of Wario land 2? That I believe is just one of many examples of Japanese versions being censored for USA and Europe versions, mainly because of the depiction of alcohol [penguins that splash beer all over the place and get Wario drunk, bowling balls don't make quite the same effect.] Another game would be James Pond on the Amiga, originally British, but when the American version was made they changed Jack Daniels pick-ups to cod liver oil.

look both these games up you'll lol

I've already heard about James Pond...

But about the censures, I always thought that americans have somewhat a problem of hypersensitivity... then it's enough to see a movie from them and in a single phrase you listen 5 or 6 words of swearing. Brutal.

I've learned a lot of English medical expressions thanks to House. It will be a big help if I choose to/have to study abroad. For instance; thanks to House I know what the hell a pituitary gland is. :P
