Currently I have no problem accepting R2 as a sequel to R1; Origins has made it clear that they take place in the same world, just different areas. This happens to comic books all the time, and it’s something the Rayman games should try to avoid.
I’m happy with the vague, impervious continuity we have now. One prequel to form the singular backstory of the entire series is enough for me. If Ubisoft start to pack prequels and inter-quels into every available chronological space, that’s when I’ll start to worry. I’d like a proper Rayman 4 instead.

Here's some good news, for me at least:
Around 6:56, he switches to the d-pad. I guess this applies to the console versions as well then. Good thing, since having to use the analog stick for a sidescroller would be a real pain.
