It's not too hard when you get into the right frame of mind about it, much nicer than having to learn Assembly code, I have a deep respect for anyone who manages that.

Yep, definitely. Both of those things you mentioned will be making a return.
Tortwag wrote:As for the previous discussion, considering this seem to be a more dramatic follow up of Rayman 1, I'd rather see the overall mood of the story to be quite dark, but with some lighter moments in it, so closer to Rayman 2 than 3 (though I prefer the latter). When saying that I'm mostly thinking about the likes of Clark (after "curing" him). Stuff like that in a dark environment is gold :D
Just a suggestion.
It is actually, don't worry. Since this isn't the 90's anymore and video game storytelling has evolved, there definitely is a lot more weight to the story. From the beginning where you don't even know who the enemy is or what they're planning, or if there even is an enemy - you're simply trying to figure out why you were outcast - to the end where you're leading an army of the dead to take back what Dark Rayman had taken from the Glade, you progressively overcome the land's seductive mystery, beautiful enough at times to allow you to get lost in your own world and forget what's really happening. This is heavily reinforced in the way Rayman acts, whether it's in dialogue sequences/cutscenes, or his facial expressions/animations while playing, which change to fit the mood of what's going on.

It's darker than any of the games so far, definitely, and yes, Dark Rayman is sort of edgy, but it should be a deep and rewarding experience. The enriched narrative I feel explores the very basic characters we were given in Rayman 1/2, rather than feeling out of place. It's sort of Rayman's coming of age story as well.

I always found it odd that, of all the raw, big 3D platformers in existence aside from Rayman 2, the ones that have the most serious tone are the 3D Mario games. I feel I'm capitalising on an opportunity that for some reason has not really been capitalised on very much.
incognito wrote:Why not releasing the so awaited Rayman 4 ?
As Master said, Origins is not a prequel, so this would be the only prequel to date.

Maybe if you'd read the instructions ("Choose an operation", that means "choose an operation" first and then hit Enter, not "enter a full-ass equation right off the bat"), you wouldn't run into errors.

Will the game be Open World ?

Will the game have an alternative ending depending on Rayman's actions like in Metro ?

The game has a linear level progression, and between each level you have the option to return to the Memory Realm, the Front-inspired but Hall of Doors-esque hub world. However, whereas some levels are entirely linear, some have open world/exploration elements, and a couple are solely that.

To be honest, I'm having trouble figuring what I should put on the website, and how it should be structured. I'm actually welcoming advice here, anyone got any?

That's all I got for now.

We do?

And yeah, that page setup would work nicely.

Well, that isn't really ROTD-related more than it is Rayman-related, with one being a Portal crossover.

Yeah he means for all of that to go onto the website in a more updated, organised hub where you can navigate it all nicely as opposed to having a wall of text as the first post.

I'd have stuff like links to the pages 'News/Home', 'About the Team', 'FAQ', 'Contact', 'Concept Art', 'Videos', 'Music', 'Downloadables', 'Merch' and that kind of stuff on the navbar near the top of the page. Then maybe a big embedded video in the centre of the first page with your trailer or whatnot. Maybe parallax scrolling elements in the fore/background if you want to go all fancy with it. Some screenshots as background p'raps. Dark colours as a theme. Clean, clear, box cut-out blog style formatting to make it all easily visible and readable at a first glance.

Look at this for an example. This is clean, simple, visually attention-grabbing and yet has a lot of detail in it:
http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/page/f ... on-mastery
Or this for the parallax effect:
http://uplaylounge.ubi.com/fan-art-cont ... roduction/
This is nice too:

Some ideas.

Try to do some deeper research because everything is written.
Maybe even percent.

how cool would it be guys, if Adsolution was an Ubisoft employee all along.
So the game that Ubisoft have mentioned about releasing, could be this one.

Most likely I am in a dream world, but would be freaking cool.

No, it's still going very strong, the ROTD team is still working very hard. Nothing to worry about.
