But thats not possible
Isn't it? I think you can look at the entity scripting with RayMap. We should give it a try!

Yeah, they're difficult to understand though. A lot of things are referred to only by number, so you're constantly cross-referencing them. I'm not sure if Droolie's working on making it any easier.
In the meantime, it might actually be good to copy the scripts into a text editor and print them out, annotating them to make it clearer what's what…

When I got it to run on wine it had a lot of graphical glitching, but some trial and error could fix that.

Which Wine version did you use again? Both 4.7-staging and 4.8-staging (freshly released!) bomb out for me.

I think it was back around version 3.15-3.18. I'll check it out on my Mint installation I have on another HDD and see if mine has the same issue.

Well, I just tried 3.15 and got the same thing. I'm also getting crashes when I try to use Gallium Nine (for Origins) with any version, which leads me to the conclusion that I've hosed my underlying system. Dammit!

Oh barnacles!
I never actually did get Origins to work without at least some sprites being missing, mainly the trails having breaks at the end of a stage leading from enemies to the final cage.

Little update: There seems to be a problem in my Mesa installation that causes crashes when I try to use Gallium Nine with the Nouveau driver (yes, that's the position I'm in ). When I set D3D_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1 it uses llvmpipe instead of nouveau, but then the performance is obviously abysmal (i.e. game unplayable). Still, at least it draws the long sprites correctly. I'll have to do some more digging to figure out what I can do about this. Hopefully it doesn't involve merely commenting out the line that causes:
EDIT2: Right, I fixed Rayman 3. Turns out that running the configuration tool under Wayland was causing it to be unable to detect any screen resolutions – that's where the null reference was coming from. Running under X11 solved the problem!

Did you manage to get it to run properly with Better Rayman 3? Mine seems to just not be launching at all right now.

Nope. Either I get a misshapen HUD (no big deal) and blank screens for cutscenes (agh!), or I put in a DLL override for d3d8.dll and get freezes after just a few moments of gameplay.

Now that I have the system up and running again I will see what happens. The game seems to work without Better Rayman 3 which is a start, but it doesn't seem to be launching at all using BR3 with Wine 4.0 at the moment. I'll mess around and see what happens, but I'll stick to the Better Rayman 3 topic with it since the unmodified GoG version seems to be working as is.

I have always wondered, what do they say during the reflux battle?
It sounds like gibberish but maybe there are actual lyrics?
To me as a Swede it sounds like they are saying Göteborg (Gothenburg)
"I AH OH I GÖTEBORG"
Maybe RayCarrot also heard that.
What do you guys think?

"Leave each other bumble on"? That's what I've trained myself to hear after years of playing this game.
Are they really saying anything though or is it just oohs and aahs with a didgiridoo on top?
I also think I hear Reflux himself saying some incantations whenever he raises his staff in the French version, but maybe it's just that he has more vocalizations than in the English version.

It really does sound like a mayan language and maybe even Reflux says some parts himself.
Also that choir is pretty damn epic
I wonder if RayCarrot also thinks it sounds like Göteborg though.
Everybody here in Sweden that I showed the song to thinks they say that it's so hilarious

Im pretty sure its also a languige only for knasren, seeing as reflux uses some wired words in his 2 boss fights (for example, when he shoots those enegery balls at rayman on the first phase of the endboss, sounds like he sais SCHWABO to me)

Probably too much to hope that they might speak Phoenician.

I have heard him pretty closely. He actually shouts "RUN!" at Rayman when he shoots those things.
