Indeed - having to miss out on a Rayman game (and let's face it - I'm not buying a whole console just because of one game (don't bring my Halo bias into this - that's unfair )) would have made me a very, very sad panda.

Egotistically I would have liked it if RL was exclusive to Wii U because it would then have a fancy exclusive and Rayman would have more probabilities of appearing on the next Super Smash Bros., but for Ubi it was better to port it so it sells much more.

Rayman was never likely to appear in Smash Bros. I've never seen any character out of Japan joining the roster, and considering the strong differences between Michel Ancel and Shigeru Miyamoto, I think it is almost impossible. (Miyamoto completely dislikes Beyond Good and Evil as much as Ancel dislikes New Super Mario Bros)
By the way, wanna check the new Prince of Persia/Splinter Cell costumes and some new screenshots?

But... Miyamoto doesn't work on the Smash Bros series. It's almost entirely Sakurai's work. Also Diddy Kong, Fox, Falco, and Wolf were created by Rare, which is British.

Diddy, yes I guess, he did come in DKC first, I think.
The Star Fox team? Nuh uh, their first game was on the SNES, and I believe it was a mixture between one of Ninty's own studios, with Miyamoto being producer, and some other studio, whose name escapes me, Rare was only responsible for one Star Fox game on the GCN, if I recall correctly.
Anyway, VITA trailer:

Finally! A confirmation on the amount of levels! 90 levels, guaranteed!
Also I can still hold out for Rayman in Smash Bros.

Miyamoto still forms a great part of the decisions taken on Nintendo games. That includes Super Smash Bros. In fact, Smash Bros Brawl was announced an Sakurai didn't even know it was in development; later after that conference, Sakurai asked to be part of the development team.
Rare has nothing to do with this. They left Nintendo for business. Not for personal motivations or development differences.
Rare's Diddy Kong was originally a redesign of Donkey Kong Junior, a character created by Miyamoto. However, Nintendo didn't like this idea for Donkey Kong Country and wanted Donkey Kong Junior to be Donkey Kong's father and the original Donkey Kong to be Cranky Kong. Donkey Kong Junior, then was renamed "Diddy Kong", and still belonged to Miyamoto, as the the intelectual property of him, the Kongs and the Kremlings still belonged to him.
...and Star Fox. His creation was never related to Rare. Rare developed Star Fox Adventures, but that doesn't mean anything. Star Fox is 100% Nintendo stuff.
-----------
Great trailer! I must say the Sea Dragon gave an awful first impression in the 20000 Lums under the sea trailer, but its animation looks very fluid in this footage!
Also, Globox said "hehe". Looks like he finally got some voice acting instead of just those reused sound effects from Rayman 3.
Also, 90 levels confirmed! Hurray!!

Anyway, VITA trailer:
Argonaut Games, who would later go on to create the Croc series made the original Starfox. And yes, Rare only made "Starfox Adventures" for the Gamecube. Anyhow, it seems that Rayman Legends looks just as good on Vita as it does on consoles, I also see that the online challenges are coming as well. On note of the new skins, the Splinter Cell Globox is fine, but I really wish they would have went with the 'Sands of Time design for the Prince of Persia skin on Rayman, instead of the original 1989 design. I'm not sure what the opinion of others on the matter is, but I just prefer the Sands of Time design that Ubisoft made.

I like the new stuff shown in the trailer, but haven't the Wii U owners lost all of their exclusive stuff (except two skins) now? I can imagine some people will be disappointed about that. I'm not though (as I'm not getting either of the systems).
Also, the stormy graveyard-like world reminds me a lot of the one in RRR...

The original 1989 design is quite different. The skin seems to be based more on the Warrior Within prince (but with Persian shoes).
I wish they had went with either the Sands of Time design or the original - those two are the best.

Why has everyone for no reason started capitalising the word 'Vita'?

I was mistaken, the Persian Shoes confused me for a while, but yes, it does look similar to the Warrior Within design, but not exact.

That has absolutely nothing to do with whether a character will make it into Smash, the main reason you see that is because the large majority of Nintendo's games come from Japan. Rayman may be unlikely as a third party character, but Sonic made it in due to fan demand, and well, Snake.
Miyamoto still forms a great part of the decisions taken on Nintendo games. That includes Super Smash Bros. In fact, Smash Bros Brawl was announced an Sakurai didn't even know it was in development; later after that conference, Sakurai asked to be part of the development team.
Nintendo actually asked Sakurai to develop the game, they were hoping he would say yes when they announced it. He went on to make most of the game by himself, which is why some of it is unbalanced.
Rare has nothing to do with this. They left Nintendo for business. Not for personal motivations or development differences.
Nintendo owned half of Rareware, when Micro$oft came knocking, it was Nintendo who sold their half of Rare, the Stamper Bros. didn't know what to do after that, so they sold their half of the company as well, making M$ the sole owner. But yes, Rare has nothing to do with it, sadly.

I've noticed they also released a Portuguese trailer for the first time. Well, more videos to archive in my channel.

Eh, looks like the exclusive stuff are now for the Playstation Vita.
I just watched the trailer, the exclusive Murfy levels look awesome! I like the level designs.
...Apparently the PS Vita users will have the online challenges. I hope the challenges will be in the full game for the other consoles as well, since the Rayman Legend app for the Wii U will close when the game gets released.
