Anyways I'll be ignoring IGN and Gamespot, I'll save my judgement for when I actually get the game on the 29th.

You know, thinking about it, I kind of expected Lost World to have mixed reviews. This is a new gameplay style for Sonic, it's not going to be smooth sailing. I know people who hated how linear the daytime stages in Unleashed were, but loved the modern stages in Generations due to improvements in level design and gameplay. If Sega is keen on keeping this gameplay style, they'll improve upon what was wrong with Lost World. Besides, Lost World's gameplay was made just to improve how Sonic is played in 3D. I think they'll accept more criticism.

Bad news (for me at least). It turns out in 3DS version when you select voice options, you can't change language but you can only make voices mute or not, so no Japanese voices in 3DS version
But if your console is on German, Italian or Spanish you here those languages and since you can't put European 3DS on Japanese, you cannot access Japanese voices even if they are most likely coded into game. This is what I call lazy DIMPS. Why not be smart like Sonic Team and make in-game options where you can customize voices and text language? Still, Roger is good but I wish I could hear Kanemaru in 3DS version too. Not to mention that Amy has the worst new English voice which is surprising since most of characters got better voices (Rouge, Cream, Tails). Shadow and Amy on the other hand...
GOOD NEWS:
BEST SONIC SONG EVER IN ANY SONIC GAME EVER INCLUDED FROM 1991-2013
I can't stop listening to this. I will ask uploader for permission to make 10 hour version of this soundtrack.

Meh, it's pretty good, but there are tracks aplenty I still like quite a bit.

Unlike the Unleashed reviews, they're not even hiding the fact they are either inherently bad at playing platformers, or playing badly on purpose.
Don't trust these reviews. Simple as that.
Also, it turns out the mini-game stages (such as the one where you ride around in a snow ball), that people have such a hard time with, are COMPLETELY OPTIONAL AND NOT REQUIRED TO FIGHT THE FINAL BOSS, meaning taking off significant marks over that is completely unfair.
Each zone has 8 acts. 4 are mandatory, and feature the regular parkour gameplay (in 2D or 3D), while the 4 optional acts give you a twist or new gameplay style to play with.
As for the 3DS version, there are 3 acts per zone, and ALL levels are mostly comprised of parkour gameplay (though you occasionally get other little things to spice things up mid-level, like a snowboarding segment in the Frozen Factory levels). Though levels contain areas where you need to either destroy all enemies, or complete a puzzle to advance (but if you're good enough with the parkour system, you can bypass some of these sections entirely).

Ok, the last gif is so fail on purpose. There is no way anyone sucks that much.

Just to point out what's wrong with each of those GIFs just in case people don't catch on:
#1: He jumps off of the second last piece of the platform, rather than the last. He also stops in midair right before his double jump. Plus, he was moving at the lowest speed tier. Even in the earliest preview footage, we saw people do that section while holding the run button (mid-speed tier), and they did fine. And they weren't even that good at the game themselves, yet they still did it fine.
#2: He zig-zagged left and right while approaching the openings on BOTH sides. He had plenty of time to move in either direction, yet he zig-zagged for no reason. It's not like either route is a trap either.
#3: He TURNS AROUND TOWARDS THE CRUMBLING FLOOR BEHIND HIM.
So yeah, those weren't the game's fault, and I doubt the rest of the game will have moments where it is. Like any Sonic game, there is bound to be one or two dickish obstacles. Heck, I've already seen it in the 3DS version, but in every case, the player simply took damage, they didn't die. So it wasn't even that bad, seeing as you can pick your rings up again anyway.
Speaking of the 3DS version, here's the first part of Cobi's playthrough of it. I watched the entire thing besides the cutscenes, and I actually really want the 3DS version now! I still probably won't get it for a while, but it will definitely keep me occupied during my three hour breaks in college (would be nice to play a brand new game during them too!). I will likely get the new Professor Layton before I get Lost World on 3DS, though.

Hm, so another reason to get a 3DS then, eh?

There have been reasons since fire emblem released earlier this year!

The 3DS had been a want for me for a while, Pokemon was the tipping point between want, and genuine craving. Anything else is just fuel for the fire really.

Well according to Nintendo, Lost World is a killer app, so meh. Take what you will from that.

The 3DS version looks decent although the platforming feels bit uninspired. Still, if it gets a price cut and I have the money it may not be a bad choice to pick it up. And that reminds me that my mother recently picked up the Generations for the system.

I wanna try out Generations for 3DS too. Although I watched Walkthrough and I have to say console version is better. I do however like stage selections in 3DS version better and I wish they were used in console version

Well that the console version is superior is almost always the case with any game. However in my opinion games that include anything related to Mushroom Hill Zone are on a higher level then others.

Generations on 3DS is pretty good, but not nearly as good as the console version. It was an incredibly rushed game (spent less than a year in development, if I'm not mistaken), but luckily, it's not broken like Sonic 06. And it does have some of my favourite tracks from the Generations OST.
I will say though, that Tropical Resort Act 2 in Generations 3DS made the best use of a Wisp I've seen so far, even more than how they were ever used in Colours. Seriously, that level knows the potential of the Laser Wisp, and embraces it.
As for Lost World 3DS, I think it looks pretty close to the Wii U version in terms of quality, and I wouldn't mind buying it brand new. I'll probably just buy it from ShopTo as they sell games at some nice prices anyway. Though I have actually entered into Cobi's giveaway for it, so hopefully I get randomly selected!

In my opinion, Lost World should have been same on 3DS like on the Wii U just with lower graphics.
@Keane
True, but Skylanders was a lot and I mean a lot better on 3DS. And oh yeah, Mushroom Hill is awesome.
Look at this epicness:
Am I the only one who wishes for Sonic 1, 2 and 3 & Knuckles remakes with this style?
