I finally got to purchasing the released version of Black Mesa. As someone who played the multiplayer from Half-Life pretty intensely, seeing how much effort and care went into recreating the maps is just incredible, they even added small additions and changes that improve some of the shortcomings of the originals. Can't wait to see them release the last 2-3 maps.
They've also done a bunch of bug fixing and improved the looks of some places in the main game, it's looking really sweet now. Unfortunately though, bugs still remain a problem, and while I've beaten the six times anyway, I'd hate to see a newcomer to the game have their first go through certain segments get disrupted by an ally that doesn't respond correctly or enemies that glitch out.
But if they can fix it up, and start allowing custom maps into online (Because honestly, 90% of the fun from playing Half-Life online comes from the bullshit servers with awkward maps), then this could shape up to be the most dedicated remake I've ever played.

Hope you're enjoying it but I REALLY recommend you take a break from MGS 2 and start with MGS 1 to understand some important bits.
I recently just beat the original Metal Gear (Not Solid!). It's simply titled Metal Gear. It came out for MSX Home computers and had a port on NES. I played it through the Metal Gear Solid 3 subsistence edition and it was great as far as classic 8 bit games go. I have to say though the music got super repetitive in some areas, a massive lack of sprites. It was a nice enjoyable small game but given the MSX's capabilities I feel it could've done a lot more. However there is also Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake.

I also played the first 2 for a bit! The first one is where you punch dogs right? And the second one is with those searching lights I believe. I didn't make it far though. >.<

Recently, I've been playing a whole bunch of Macroboy Y. It's an indie game currently on steam greenlight and Kickstarter. It's trying to be just like a Megaman X game, but grittier and also multiplayer focused.
I've been playing it a lot to acquire footage because I've been asked to do the trailer for them. I can't resist to show you

Seems you played the shitty NES version. In the MSX version you don't punch dogs. But that NES version is legitimately awful, horrible glitches, broken english, etc.

I'm currently playing Majora's mask (the Nintendo Wii version) with my friend. I have to say it's the strangest game I've ever played! We're up to the snow bit, so quite early on in the game. I really like the dark undertone to this game, it's literally like nothing else I have ever played. I might even consider getting the 3DS version someday.

Ja haha same for me when I was younger. I used to have MGS2 as a kid but I never got it through finding the bomb in the buttom of Strut A after the timer started to tick. Now I finally found it and could progress on. I'm currently still stuck a bit in the connecting Bridge between Shell 1 and 2 because I need some sort of sniper to get all controll pads, which means that I have to look for one in the entire Shell 1.

He's talking about Metal Gear 2, not Metal Gear Solid 2. Huge difference.

Sorry, I wasn't talking about MGS2. I was talking about Metal Gear: snake's revenge (the one with the lights) and Metal gear (the dog punching party).

Continuing on my Metal Gear journey to freshen my memory. I have started playing through MGS 4 for the first time.
While I was replaying 1-3 just to refreshen my memory before The Phantom Pain, this is my first actual playthrough of 4.
I'm really digging this one so far despite the fact it's clustered with shameful fan service. The whole theme of the war economy plummeting and being heavily reliant on PMC's to fight wars is truly immersive. We've never seen war like this before in Metal Gear. Actually being on the live battlefield instead of infiltrating a base, shell, or forest really feels incredible. I've only reached midway through act 2 (Solid Sun) and already a deep amount of revelations are being unfolded. I hear the game gets pretty messy with it's plot around the third act so I'll be anticipating that soon enough.

I was playing RRR on PC for the first time in years. It's quite fun, but some of the minigames become frustrating late in the game.

Are you posting just to piss me off with your whining?
Now do you see how much sense that made? Seriously Fifo, that's freaking pathetic.
