So I don't know if anybody knew about this or posted anything about this but I recently discovered that Adsolution was reviewed on this french site: https://michaelguarne.wordpress.com/201 ... eur-en-3d/ if anyone's interested, the review also has some unseen photos from the project.

Pretty sure it has already been posted there, but thanks for the reposting!
Also, it's the same guy who made "L'histoire de Rayman"

Pity that there is no comparison, or link for the specific preset, but maybe browser will show it by name, and there will be screens.

Can someone "explain like i'm five" what this game's "deal" is? It's been in the making since I was 11/12 years old... i'm now 18. I started secondary (high) school when this thread was originally published, and now i've left school, and it's still being made. Apparently. What is the deal? Is this ever coming out?

Ah ah I think nobody knows when it'll be released. Lot of mystery around this game. Maybe within one, five, ten years (hundreds?). There are still updates from time to time on adsolution channels: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeGziL ... KBU-FxxzCQ

Adsolution is only two years older than you, so consider the age needed for full, competent game development.

You've forgotten about the sensible number of stuff needed for making such game in decent time.

Hopefully ROTD will never come out.

Progress is being made, do some of you even realize how difficult game development is?
Hell, most fan games never even make it this far without being canned.
Not to mention a lot of things are being refined, made better. The Rayman model for example was remade quite a few times to get the best possible look.
Especially given how Ad is the only coder on the team whose making a full 3D platformer. We have no "release date" and we'll likely never know that, especially since Ad does have a life aside from ROTD.

Well, indie games, these have no schedule, I saw some being developed for more than 12 years.

Come on people. Don't be like that.
It's just a matter of hiring more people for such work. And they need to have proper skills of course.
But... chances of involving such number of people, negligible.

I'm just being realistic, the project began back in 2009, seven years ago, almost eight, it just ended up in some now disappeared stress tests and occasional screenshots, look at Lucky3's fangame, and how active it is...
I don't say it won't be made, but is gonna be like Daikatana and mighty number nine. I'm pretty sure the only thing that keeps Ad from stopping it is the money he put in the game.
If you're really optimistic, in 2022 cancer and AIDS will find a cure, quantic computers will be developed, and ROTD will be released on X64 processors replaced by the MIPS or the ARMV17 with "Adsolution as about to make you his bitch, suck it down" as an advertising.
But this is the optimistic version.

Unlike either of those games he has all the time in the world to develop ROTD and isn't being rushed to release it at a certain time. He put no money in the game.

GASP, she does? I never could have gueeeeeeeeeeeeeeesed!!! But no really people it's pointless and stupid to ask for a release date on an unfunded video game

Are any of those full length 3D platformers done by only one coder with the Cryengine?
