Yes, but unfortunately, the only program that's free, good enough and friendly enough to work on XP (unlike OpenBroadcaster and others), CamStudio, isn't typically designed to work well with games - it's supposed to be used for Desktop recordings for file tutorials and such. However, after much fiddling with settings and codecs, < has gotten the right video quality < wanted, but now < has to face solving the desynch and/or crashing program. The thing is it crashes right as it's saving the file, so...

Ah < sees, hopefully ^ will find a means of solving it, < is on Win 7, and it does have its benefits by the looks of it.
< is doing something < should've done a long time ago, backing up.

< suggests ^ and Master to use Fraps, even if not free. Problem with Fraps is the videos registered are not compressed yet : they actually take A LOT of space.

Finally, free recording programs are all shit : you will have to pay if you want something good on PCs.

Who pays for software?

I'd actually suggest Bandicam over FRAPS. There are far more options, and it serves a very similar purpose, yielding very similar results.

People who prefer to pay. But you can also provide yourself not free softwares legally and don't pay for them. For example, I got a free pro W7 64-bit version because of the partnership of my school with Microsoft. Considering I'm only paying 600 € per year to study in it, and that it is not in order to pay softwares, I'm pretty happy with this.

This guy knows best things XD
I have huge Audio FRAPS issue since I cannot split my voice and game sound. I need to split them since then I can edit in Camtasia and make my voice louder then Game audio. Bandicam has audio split option so I use Bandicam sometimes and I also like DXtory so it depends. Dxtory does not record dosbox so Bandicam is best choice for that. I find FRAPS to be overrated as hell with lack of awesome features that Bandicam and DXTory have (no disrespect to FRAPS users)

< is happy with paying for what < can afford. One of the only expensive pieces of software < has actually paid for is Komplete 8 Ultimate, and that's because it was a real landmark for <. While < thinks it's unfair for people in the lower-class to have to work so ridiculously hard to get something like that and the upper-class can obtain it with barely any effort, < thinks that if people were rewarded simply based on effort alone, everything would become far too balanced, resulting in the utter boredom of life. < kind of likes the way the world works; pirating is illegal, but it's often done for a just cause. If it were legal, too many people would do it, so it remaining illegal sort of levels out the playing field.

It's 8:00 AM, and < still hasn't slept.

< was at the coders dojo up in Edinburgh today, it was the first meeting so it was pretty much an introduction to the course and a look at basic programming through google blockly, as < said, very basic, but < enjoyed it all the same.

What?
< says it's not an actual place, its just an event called the coders dojo (though, the host pronounced it 'cododojo') and as < said, it was very basic stuff today like Google Blockly
< did enjoy it, though < will need to borrow a laptop every time < goes though, as they don't generally provide them.

< used FRAPS before, but got filesizes of 4GB on videos of rougly thirty to fourty minutes. Also, FRAPS hogs your computer's resources like a bitch. < was looking for something not too intensive on the ol' CPU while still worth using (like don't skip every 2 frames because you suck :P).
Adsolution wrote:I'd actually suggest Bandicam over FRAPS. There are far more options, and it serves a very similar purpose, yielding very similar results.
< agrees that Bandicam is a good option. However, < has stopped <'s habbit of making use of piracy a long time ago and < wants to pay for things if < needs to - but more so, < wants to not pay for things if < doesn't have to. :P
