I guess it's a start, as we're probably going to need one per level.

Hmmm, with progress done or not (by progress I mean with Lums and Cages already collected)?

On the topic of Rayman 2 save gathering, how are we going about keeping the 0% completion with the saves? Is it possible to hack saves to be set to 0, and if so, how?

I think that the cheat codes aren't 100% helpful because once I tried out to get the access to all levels and some levels had Lums or Cages collected.

Hexediting could maybe make such hack possible.

I'm aware of the "gothere" cheat, and I think I made a point about it before, hence my request for inquiring into how we go about getting 0% files for every level.

It's probably possible with hex-editing, or if not that, then cheat engine.

For a start, I suggest we post a savegame for each level here. Then, we'll take care of the hacking.

Ah, I have a fuckload of time tomorrow, maybe I can provide them! I'll probably start as soon as I wake up, assuming these fabled Windows 8 compatibility issues aren't going to be an... issue.
So basically, I can just breeze through each level as fast as possible and copy a savegame every time I return to the Hall of Doors? Is there anything in particular I should call the in-game file (the three-letter name)?

Hm, so just normally run through the game, not worrying about completion, then do the "haxxing" afterwards? Sounds like a plan, I'll see if I can help out too.

I've uploaded all the files to the new server, but for some reason the main R1 savegame gives a 404 error despite being uploaded to the server (every other file should work fine). I'll see if I can do anything to fix this.

Yes, unless anyone has a better idea of course!

Thanks a lot!

Yep. Not sure what the name is for the Rayman savegames, maybe RPC?

The Rayman 1 save was called RAY I believe

Hmm, I've also got some free time now, I'll see if I can chime in a few saves also. Personally, I'd name the saves with some form of abbreviation to their respective level, (TFG for Fairy Glade, CBD for Cave of Bad Dreams etc.)

So let it be RAY. As for abbreviations, in any case Ad won't be playing the game under twenty different aliases so we'll see if it can be renamed later.

Gotcha, Humch.
Anyways, I've looked around my computer and found where the save games are for Rayman 2 on my computer, note that it's the GoG version, however:
Code: Select all
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\GOG.com\Rayman 2\Data\SaveGame
Each save has a folder named "Slot" with a corresponding number, like so:

Yeah, Rayman 2 PC save games are a slight problem due to their folder layout.
Quick thing: the copyright at the bottom of the site needs updating. What should I change to avoid any legal issues?

Yeah we're going to have to compress the folders I guess.

I'll provide the screenshot-quad images for each level like there are for the Rayman 1 and 3 saves.
Also, does anyone think I should update the actual RaySaves site banner? I like what I was going for last year and I think there's a certain charm to that colour in contrast to the RPC theme going on, but is also looks far too dirty in contrast to the site theme; I'd at least like that to remain consistent.

I just noticed that clicking the download buttons causes the save files to open in the browser window as gibberish text instead of actually downloading. Save As works of course, so the files are completely in-tact, it just doesn't seem to be giving the right command or whatever.
