Re: Jak and Daxter
Curiousity piqued, now, let's see what you got.
Re: Jak and Daxter
I looked into it further and the guy had said prior to that tweet in an interview that he was "looking forward to uncharted 4" or something along the lines of that.. I'd love an uncharted 4 someday, but I think Jak 4 should be made first.
Re: Jak and Daxter
A question. I remember reading that regarding that Jak X was never released in Japan, Japanese dub was actually finished and included in later copies of Jak X in America. If somebody has Jak X, can he check in options, is there Japanese language avalible? If so, please tell me ID of game in format SLUS XXXXXX
Re: Jak and Daxter
Interesting video for Jak fans. This guy's art is awesome.

Re: Jak and Daxter
And a nice ol' bump. Looks like Sony's caught the porting bug again...
It's nice to see Jak and Daxter for the PS4, the PS3 ports weren't too bad, barring that major screw up with the Kor reveal scene. Here's hoping they do this one right. And also, Jak X is now part of the mix!
So, to buy (for the third time) or not to buy, hm? I don't have a PS2 or PS3, and I don't think my laptop is powerful enough to emulate. I could buy on the PS4, but to be honest, I don't think I'd get much opportunity to play on it. The only time I went on the PS4 was to play a bit of LBP3, but even so, not much. Still, it is Jak and Daxter, a very dear series and it'll give me the chance to try out and beat Jak X for the first time. So, hmm, maybe?

Re: Jak and Daxter
This was certainly some exciting news! I'm however unsure if I'll buy them on the PS4 considering I've got the HD collection and most of the PS2 games. I'll probably get Jak X though since I never finished that one and the PS2 version had this annoying save corruption glitch. Too bad they confirmed they'd remove the online functionality. Would have been nice seeing that revived again. For Jak II and 3 I hope there won't be any trophies for getting all the precursor orbs like on the PS3 since those were the only ones keeping me from getting a platinum.
One thing which does make me a bit worried though is the quality. They seem to say it's only upscaled to 1080p. If I remember correctly the PS3 version ran in native 720p, with the option to upscale it to 1080p. So the PS4 version will actually be upscaling from a lower resolution than the PS3 port if it takes it of off the PS2's native resolution. Not a big deal really though. As long as they don't screw anything up and keep the framerate solid.

Awesome. I'll finally be able to play through Jak X again for the first time in 11 years

Re: Jak and Daxter
Bumping cause I saw this in the index and while there's not been anything new officially with the series, OpenGOAL did happen and it's made playing these games a lot more accessible and fun.
Also cause I notice my preferences have shifted and I actually think Jak 2, even with some of its BS moments, has actually become my favourite of the series now. I should probably play Jak 3 again (my previous favourite) to double check, but I know the last time I did a run through of the trilogy Jak 2 stuck with me the most. Might have to get an appreciation as to the why xD

Re: Jak and Daxter
Jak II was always my favourite. Heavily down to the atmosphere of the city, the feel of zoomers and the incredible cutscene animation and dialogue.
Jak 3 still has a lot going for it though.
I think that the gameplay is affected somewhat by "open world syndrome." There's so much to do, like shooting, driving, platforming, hoverboard, dark jak, mini-games etc. that none of these things is honed to the degree it could have been.
Compare that with Crash's refined platforming (esp. Crash 2) or the amazing feel of CTR and its boost system. They had the whole of development to iterate on those core mechanics.

Re: Jak and Daxter
I think that's probably it. I have followed some of the backstory and beta stuff that folks like LuminarLight have shared, and the impression I get is that Jak 3 pretty much kicked off development as Jak 2 was being finalised. And it sounds like Jak 3 was fairly rushed in comparison, though I think it's still a reasonably solid game overall...I just kinda think it's not quite as tight as Jak 2 was. It's telling that they ended up refining the vehicular stuff that took up a lot of Jak 3 with Jak X, cause the cars feel a lot nicer in that game.
