About the gender thing, maybe the indication could be just an 'M' or 'F' rather than a colour.

Well, you're actually right.
What's better:
Newbs and n00bs mistaking Acarr and a few other users' sex (um, I mean ''he'' or ''she'', not THIS), but only a few spam topics...
OR...
Millions of threads ''wtf iz dah m n f fing?'', but a FEW people NOT mistaking ''him'' for ''her'' and ''her'' for ''him''.
I prefer the 1st thing.
