2D Madness 2 may be called 2D Nightmare based on the info I can find. Still don't know how to unlock it though.

2: Press the "picture-taking" button.
3: Press the "grimace" button.
4: Press the "grimace" button again.
5: Read.
6: Try googling some of the names that come up.

It doesn't seem to work on the PC version

Are you sure you did it right? You have to press the picture-taking button while locked on, the press the grimace once, revealing the target's name, and twice, revealing some more info. It works with most enemies, and also with meadowscrews, plums and other targets. It's how we got most of our information about the different hoodlums.

It should work. Although a lot of the enemies sadly don't have their own information.

Not a lot. There are only a few, like those spiky guys in the tunnel near the start of TLOTLD, and those red guys that throw leaves at you in TFC.

My mistake, it does actually work. I first tried it on a piggy bank, and nothing appeared, so I thought it wasn't working. Unfortunately, Xenon is right, we don't learn anything about some strange enemies, such as the ninga crabs.

yes, it works on only the most common enemies, such as Hoodmonger Private First Class (my current rank), Reflux, the Heckler, etc.

The Hoodmonger Private First Class seems to be more of a category than a specific Hoodlum because there all kinds of Hoodlums that have this name. The Grims, the Hoodmongers, the Hoodblasters etc.

I've only seen it on Hoodblasters and Grims, and I presume that it is an error there, as the description says they are excellent marksmen.

I've seen it on the Hoodstylers and the Hoodmongers that look like Elite Mongers in Tower of the Leptys.

Elite Mongers?
And when I do it on the Hoodstylers, it says 'Hoodmonger Soldier'.

Elite Mongers are Hoodmonger Officers. Hoodstylers are indeed Hoodmonger Soldiers.
I don't know where the names came from either but they sound cooler.

He was probably talking about the mention of Space Mama on the official R3 site.
