Or drink coffee flavoured Baileys.

Hunch, you really need to come visit me here in Trøndelag some time, then we can drink
karsk.

Maybe I could try to study in Norway next semester, cause I'm struggling to find a four-month internship abroad (they usually prefer to hire students for six months, one year or even more).

Try the NTNU in Trondheim. It's actually ranked the 6th best uni in Europe!

Yeah, put beer in your tea and wine in your coffee.

Awesome, it's actually one of the partner universities of my school

Man, I'm seriously considering this option!

Would be awesome to have you here, man! I made a little error when describing NTNU to you, though: It's not the 6th best uni in Europe overall, just when it comes to science and technology.

Well I don't give a shit about academic rankings because they mainly focus on research and hardly even take the selectiveness of the institution into account (not even 10% in the Shangai ranking). For instance, the school I'm in is such more selective than any British or American university, but it's much smaller and not very much focused on research, which gives it less visibility. The problem is that most application deadlines were in October, I'll see with the international relationship office at my school.

Drink about 6-8 cups a day

I have three mugs of tea a day. And mugs are two or three times the size of cups, so I win.

You've mentioned that before.

Serious question.
What exactly is so good about alcohol? I mean I don't exactly shun it like it's plutonium [in fact I had a little red wine last night at a meal with the library folk], but I just don't get why loads of people make it like it's THE gift from God. It's just drink. I dunno I'm rambling about nothing.
@ Ryan: eating dandelions is pretty much taboo here too because most people see them as good things for dogs to wee on, same with nettles. Used to drink nettle tea a lot as well but I prefer dandelion and perhaps peppermint tea. I prefer peppermint as a teabag over the real thing, I tried making mint tea before but it just tasted like suck. It's a shame because I've got like, loads of cookbooks but I hardly even use them for my cooking. :B

When you're drunk, you don't care about what you do. You just have fun, which is awesome.

AFAIK alcohol can temporarily increase the level of serotonin which raises one's mood, that's the fun effect of alcohol
Long-term drinking will lower it though because the human's organism will be "lazy" to produce its own serotonin. That causes depression, which leads into drinking more and more to give your serotonin a boost. It's an infinite loop really...
As for tobacoo I believe it has some effects on some hormones too which cause addiction, I'm not sure though.

I only asked because well, my grandad. He goes to the village pub like EVERY SINGLE day and when he gets home drunk he's either really annoying or really grumpy. How my nan puts up with him I don't know.

I always feel so floaty and tired after drinking myself, to be honest. :\ I've never gotten sick off it yet though. Really, I find I end up just having it once in a while for the taste of it.
It's like my coffee and tea. I don't drink either to stay awake (well, sometimes I do). I drink them because I sit down and enjoy it.
