I dare to disagree. They are wonderful as long as you are used to keybaord, and as long as it is a good keyboard.
RANDOM FACT: If you play R2 in version designed for language with different keybaord layout, it will display different key names, but they work as usual. I suppose it sucks "OEM data" from Windows instead of char data.

I do not agree, I think the controls are quite good in the PC version. Only the Dreamcast version superates the PC version in my opinion.Rayman3DS wrote:But...The controls are terrible..GlueTube365 wrote:My favourite is the PC version. That one holds so many childhood memories.

I only play the ps1 version, but i think because the story is the same that for who played ps1 version, the ps2 version, not to mention better graphics, its the same game and not worth buying although the game is good

Re: Favorite Rayman 2 version
I agree with what you say ONLY to a certain extent, having played the PS1, PC and PS2 versions (in that order), I agree that story-wise there are little differences, both PS1 and PS2 made modifications, but not to a major extent.Bretes wrote:I only play the ps1 version, but i think because the story is the same that for who played ps1 version, the ps2 version, not to mention better graphics, its the same game and not worth buying
However, to say they are the same game completely would be an outright fabrication, ALOT of content was modified and removed in the PS1 version, differences are significant in many levels and I can't be bothered listing the vast amount of differences I found, the PS2 version kept most levels intact the way they were, but modified their level order, and also changed the first part of the Top Of The World (which does not feature AT ALL in the PS1 version) to a bonus level, last but not least, the hall of doors were replaced by 6 hub levels, three containing replacement "Teensie Circles".
If you want an obvious difference the PS1 version only has 800 lums total, whilst all other version have 1000 lums total.

Bretes wrote:I only play the ps1 version, but i think because the story is the same that for who played ps1 version, the ps2 version, not to mention better graphics, its the same game and not worth buying although the game is good
Re: Favorite Rayman 2 version
After read your opinions, i try buy the game. Because i know that is a good game. i only had decided, not buy because i have the ps1 version.

Dreamcast has the best graphics, but definitely I like Revolution the most, for the additional stuff in it.

Re: Favorite Rayman 2 version
I was just playing Revolution again and managed to find out they removed a whole part of the Precipice and combined it with the final part of the Echoing Caves! It'll be interesting to see what they've done to the end bit of the Echoing Caves once I get there. That may take a while though - as I had previously with Clark, I'm now inside a mining cart and the cart won't move. Can't go anywhere and can't do anything about it. Guess I'll just wait it out and hope that by gathering some Lums the problem will go away.
I'm not too sure about Revolution. The extra stuff is somewhat amusing, but I don't like how quickly Pirates are beaten, the rockets the Red Pirates fire off are weird, to say the least and some of the replacing flat textures with models was unnecesary to be honest. What I dislike is the explosion your Magic Fist generates when fully charged, how things that should explode don't and the overall texture quality. I know that's because PS can't handle textures very well, but hey that's just what I noticed.
For the rest it's still pretty fun, but my heart will always stick with the PC version.

Are you playing Revolution on a PS3? That mine cart is the subject of a game-breaking emulation glitch. While the cart is endlessly going back and forth, if you just keep trying to jump out of it and into the Pirate Mines, you might get lucky and succeed, but this can take hours.

Re: Favorite Rayman 2 version
Hmm... that would actually get me somewhere. However, the cart doesn't even move and pressing any of the controls is impossible since they are locked. I'm not even in the Pirate Mines yet - just in the cart located in the Front (the hubworld). Thanks though, I'll try that if I ever get it to move in the first place.spiraldoor wrote:Are you playing Revolution on a PS3? That mine cart is the subject of a game-breaking emulation glitch. And yes, emulation.

PC!
Love it because it is the one I grew up with.
I'll never forget those memories.

Re: Favorite Rayman 2 version
PC version for me. That's the version I got introduced to Rayman with. The other systems I've played it on are the DS and the iPod and the experience wasn't as magical compared to the PC. But then again, Rayman 2 was the first game I played from start to finish so I guess the PC version brings nice memories for a good reason.
Re: Favorite Rayman 2 version
My favorite version is PC. It was the first game I ever owned, and I still have (running it in HD!). Also, it has the highest resoultion. But I must say, I like the Dreamcast intro and world map, while Revolution looks awesome too.
