I did a quick level to test the Bzzit event today in Designer, and although rather glitchy it worked quite well. I wish they'd refined it a bit and actually had it in there as an event you could use without hacking. The screen movement didn't work well either, but I used an auto-scroller event to compensate.

I saw it on YouTube a few hours ago, looks better than what I would've done!
Shame that I can't use certain events like that one; because when I add those certain events, the game freezes up to where I have to exit and start over.

Well, the game does have a lot of stability issues when using some of these hacked events. I know for this one I had to restart Designer to make it work, and then it wouldn't let me enter the editor again.

True, but I remember using the Bzzit event on my XP and it worked just fine. Also, the Electoon and cage events will cause the game to freeze, where it didn't on my XP. The blue ting sound effects from Rayman 1 are one of the few that do work. I'm not complaining here, but it's unfortunate that me and probably others that use modern operating systems, are more limited when using hacked events to create Rayman levels.

Are you sure it's just the OS that's changed? You're not using a different copy of the game itself?

Oh yeah, I saw this in my subscription box earlier and watched it. I didn't know you could mix and match elements from different world themes. Though I don't really pay attention to the Designer stuff, so maybe it's just me being out of the loop.

When I was running the game on XP, I used the Rayman Forever disc and Pok2's patch. Now I use Optimum on my 8.1. There's most likely something or somethings different in between. I guess the first sign of that being true was the heck bounding time it took for me to get the extended editor to function on 8.1.

The elements from one world can be mixed into another world through an edited PCX file. Currently in the edited PCX world, there is only the Band Land/Dream Forest one (featured in Carrot's video) that does the mix and match.

Well, I guess it could also be the DosBox version, but it's most likely the Designer executable itself. If you still have the Forever disc, I guess you could try copying it off that.

Well I was using the Forever version on Win10, so I doubt the OS itself is an issue. As for the cage and electoons I haven't tried those yet, so I don't know how well they work for me. I remember some of the hacked events crashing the game for me, but I could simply open it again and then it was fine.
About mixing world themes, I think it's only possible between Dream Forest and Band Land. It might have something to do with the color palette being used, though I'm not sure.

Since the OS on which Designer is running is the DosBox emulated DOS, the Windows version can't possibly have anything to do with it.
And Dream Forest and Band Land have the same transparent colour, so that's why they can be mixed with minimum effort. The PCX palettes can be swapped around without too much hassle, although the result mightn't look very good.

This looks really nice.
I still can't get over how much creativity this has especially for how long ago the game was released. Even without mods, even Rayman 1, they just have so much creativity imo. These additions to Rayman Designer make it look even more amazing than it already does.

those were rayman origins levels edited to look like rayman one, (textures only) but i havent seen anything about recreating origins levels IN rayman designer

I don't think anyone's ever tried that. The colour palette is so much more limited and the gameplay is so different, I can't really picture it in my mind.

I think it would just seem so broken having Rayman 1 with the use of physics from Origins.
