Re: Cartoon Shows
I don't remember hating you.
Also, has anyone seen the new Looney Tunes Show? It is decent, but boring. At least it is still better than the trash that was Loonatics Unleashed and Baby Looney Tunes, but it is not nearly as good as the original or Tiny Toon Adventures.

Re: Cartoon Shows
The Looney Tunes Show is not as bad as I thought and is one of the better shows I've seen recently...its just not "looney" at all...Gumball on the other is one of CN's best shows as of now and the Beavis and Butthead reboot is making me all happy...can't wait to see it on Comic-Con

Re: Cartoon Shows
Yeah, they changed most of the characters too much. Gossamer is especially annoying.
Re: Cartoon Shows
Lately I have a special place for Phineas & Ferb
Actually, now I prefer it more than The Simpsons, but I'll be back to them eventually

Re: Cartoon Shows
Phineas and Ferb never attracted my attention. Disney's nowadays cartoons/shows make me wish go back to the endings of the 90s.

Re: Cartoon Shows
Yeah. By the way, Tiny Toon Adventures is being reaired in Russia, but it doesn't appear to be reairing anywhere else in Europe or in America.
Re: Cartoon Shows
Nevermind guys, i saw a trailer of a Stitch in Time.
Re: Cartoon Shows
I've just got disturbed by watching a reporting about the Smurfs movie that goes to the Portuguese theathers today: the reporter was asking to a kid if she knew their name, and she couldn't answer.
I find this disturbing because it is alarming how the classical (and decent) cartoons are getting lost in time with the new generations. The television channels also have fault for this. It is unbelievable how in a decade the quality of the exibithed programs has decreased. Seriously: Gormiti?! Bakugan?! Hannah Montana?!
I would like to listen your opinions.

Re: Cartoon Shows
I still didn't forget other episode of the kind, of also a girl in a kid-versioned "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?". The Disney-kind question was about the name of the puppet made of wood that everytime that said a lie his nose would grow... She had no idea. I found that embarassing, didn't her parents ever showed her Disney movies? I wonder what she watches.
I don't know the kind of programs that pass nowadays in other countries but the ones that have been passing here in the last 10 years made me give up watching TV a very long time ago.

Re: Cartoon Shows
I cannot judge the quality of the new film but I was reminding the cartoons themselves.
I don't find Hannah Montanna anything special. Teen series and films leave me disgusted.

Well, it would be different if they sold the Spaceballs Flamethrower.Haruka wrote:Seriously: Gormiti?! Bakugan?! Hannah Montana?!
Now, I'm serious. Not sure about Gormiti, but both Bakugan and Hannah Montana are "extended franchises", although differently - Bakugan extends to the plastic marbles game, Hannah Montana - to songs. Basically merch, although it is too simple.
Today's children I know don't find, say, Pink Panther, cool because there is gasillion of cartoons and a few computer games (not decent), which is, like, 1 category of stuff. There was Pink Panther merch, but it wasn't as strongly advertised and it was "sidequest" for companies. Bakugan sells to my younger brother because 1. we do not like it and 2. there are lots of toys "DIRECTLY" connected to series.

Re: Cartoon Shows
The golden age of cartoons is over since a long time guys.
The best cartoons were years ago, with the classical Disney movies. Snow white, Lion King! Those movies are excellent.
Now what do we have? Cartoons which mostly base into 3D and with such stupid scenarios... After people ask me why I don't watch TV anymore. Once I was looking to a kids channel (my mother keeps children sometimes so I had a look) but I got SO SHOCKED with the cartoons they were showing. Pointless humour, nonsense or stupid scenario... Fortunately there was one (ONLY ONE) cartoon in this channel which was in the good era: Maya the Bee. The others sucked. But it's quite sad how the good movies and cartoons are forgotten...And alarming.
Disney tried to come back to the 2D with "The princess and the frog". I didn't see it but it looked pretty good. Thought it didn't get that popular? Why? Because nowadays the new generation prefers the crap of nowadays. Cartoons with violence, stupidity and nonsense.
Before cartoons were made in a way that it teaches something GOOD for the children. Like, to don't lie (Pinnochio), to don't be selfish (Beauty and the Beast), friendship without caring of differences (The Fox and the Hound)....And many other stuff.
Then what do the cartoons teach us nowadays? To annoy the teachers, to resolve problems with stuff which are impossible to do in real life, or with an extreme luck which we couldn't have in real life... It's just...Awful.
If I have kids in the future, I'll "feed" them with classical Disney movies. I do believe the new generation's behaving nowadays is in a part due to what they watch in TV.
Sorry for the long comment but I had to give my opinion. ^^'

Re: Cartoon Shows
You know what? Violent cartoons are one thing, absolutely-no-violence cartoons are another one. Of course my studies were amateur, but usually those made watching violence "more interesting". And if there was nonsense scenario, I would support such cartoon day one. Most of modern absurds use OBVIOUS scenarios.

Re: Cartoon Shows
You've got a point. Some cartoons nowadays aren't entertaining, you don't have this feeling of "oh my god, what will happen next?" or other stuff like that. I had a look one day...And most of them are so boring, or too much "cliché".

Re: Cartoon Shows
Live comedy shows for kids are worst, i'll sometimes cacth my sister wacthing Disney XD and these terrible shows would be on with no moral what so ever, and i mean, I don't mind if a show has no moral but, its just stupid. Like in this one show, the main character lies to her parents, skips her classes, dosen't do anything with tought or care, and is just a rebel. And what is it teaching kids of today? That its cool to not listen to thier parents nor pay attention in school. It makes me wonder, Who in thier right mind comes up with this stuff?
A show i do like is Phineas & Ferb, I always find myself laughing at thier jokes. The movie was great too.
