The text file I read came from the Gamecube version, although I'm pretty sure the 2D Nightmare text is in the PC version as well. I tried to take a look in the file but I made a mistake and accidently looked at the text file of the R3 Beta Demo.
And beside what seems to be the final script, it contains a lot, if not all of the dialogue of what was going to be Rayman 3 (but it's all in French)! Clark is in it, Murfy is in it more than usual, etc. Really, interesting read! I haven't read everything and I can't post it now, because I need to go to bed, but you can take a look for yourself. ( it's in fix.lvl in the beta demo files ).

I've searched and I'm sharing it here in a text document:

spiraldoor wrote:That’s strange... there’s no mention of 2D Nightmare, so CheatCat must have been referring to another file when he said that, probably one in the same folder. Could someone ask him about it on Betilla’s Gardens? One thing that I notice about the text posted by Haruka is that the phrase ‘You discovered a secret passage!’ is directly after the description for 2D Madness – perhaps this means that the secret passage to 2D Nightmare is indeed located somewhere in 2D Madness, or perhaps it means that the description displayed when you enter 2D Nightmare is ‘You discovered a secret passage!’. Or perhaps both explanations are true.
Well what bugs me most is there is no slash in front of the secret passage message. There is also no reference to Mad Trax, Wheelis, or any Gamecube unlock messages in that whole text dump, making me think the secret passage message is just some kind of leftover. I think there would be more remainders of the rest of the Gamecube secrets instead of just one offhand message to a secret passage. I'm leaning more towards that there is still some extra bonus level to finish on GBA, but I have no clue.

Maybe I'm just forgetting something inside the GBA Advance version or I need to do a better sweep for secrets? Other possibilities is I have never playing any of the multi-pack multiplayer in the GBA version, since I don't have two Rayman 3 GBA carts, but I have the feeling that might not be it. But it's worth checking.

Is there a way to get the file from the final game and not the Beta? I think if I could see the script from the actual Gamecube file, it would help. Also is it all in one file or is each minigame a separate file with text?

I would figure only getting into the Gamecube or GBA files could tell us, but I have no idea how to hack into those things.

If you look closely, you can see that there are no slashes between any of the minigame descriptions – the end of each minigame’s instructions flow straight into the start of the next minigame’s instructions with nothing but a space between them.

Haruka didn’t post the entire contents of the text file – only a part that contained descriptions for the minigames. However, other parts of the file – which is very long – also make mention of the minigames. Here’s a direct quote which mentions 2D Nightmare right alongside the other minigames:
Racket jump Crush Mad Trax Razoff Circus Sentinel Missile command Balloons Special invaders Commando Wheelis 2D nightmare 2D madness
And here’s one containing what I think must be the instructions displayed when you enter 2D Nightmare (I left in the descriptions and instructions of a couple of other minigames to give a little context):
\jcRazoff doesn't like intruders - he loves them! \lThere's nothing quite like taking potshots \lat moving targets! But make sure \lyou don't get submerged ... \jcTo move, use \f1:E\f0: \lTo fire, press \f1:a\f0:\lTo throw a bomb, press \f1:b \jcDriving without a driver's license is possible, \lbut it's not always a smart idea … \jcTo move, use \f1:E\f0: \lTo accelerate, press \f1:a \jcJust like playing chess, except you throw plums\lto zap Hoodlums instead of moving pawns \lto put the king in check. \jcTo move, use \f1:E\f0:\lTo kick the plum, press \f1:a \jcTo quit, press \f1:a\f0: \jcTo move, use \f1:E\f0: \lTo jump, press \f1:a\f0:\lTo shoot press \f1:b \jcSometimes Rayman remembers being a kid, \lwhen everything was in 2D. \jcTo move, use \f1:E\f0: \lTo jump, press \f1:a\f0:\lTo shoot, press \f1:b \jcYou discovered a secret passage! \jcWhen Rayman was younger, \lhe only had two dimensions.

Yes, the Dolphin emulator lets you look through the filesystem of a GameCube game and extract individual files from it. The quotes I posted just now come from the GameCube version (which is the same as the PC version, as far as I’m aware). If you want to take a look, here’s the actual fix.lvl file that was on the GameCube disc (it’s mostly an incomprehensible jumble, but the entire Rayman 3 script/menus/descriptions/dialogue is in there, plus some scrapped stuff):

Hmmm, looking through the text file, I can see a bunch of Gamecube stuff, including the "Treasure Mode" and "Escape mode" stuff for Gamecube that probably never happened. The text is all there. I was wondering, the description to Mad Trax also acts like possibly there is a secret passage or it's just calling the whole level a secret passage.

I'm not positive that the arrangement in the files necessarily signals the "secret passage" being somewhere in 2D Madness.

I noticed someone here said they had ripped models. Is it possible that the models for the levels can be looked at? What program do you use and where can you get the model files?

Well I have the gamecube ISO downloading through torrent currently, but I'm going to have to wait a while for it to download if it ever finishes. If someone already has it and can locate the models for Mad Trax, 2D Madness, and 2D Nightmare I might be able to open them an look at them.

The name on the bonus games is in another part of the file. I don't remember, it was there when I looked in fix.lvl for more than a year ago. :|

Isn't it possible that the way to getting 2D Nightmare might not involve mini-games but some kind of secret in the main game?

I don't think that it is unlocked by a in-game secret passage. The chances are quite minor.

I believe it is related with the mini-games and the GBA R3 cartridge.

My guess is that it was supposedly hidden in one of the 10 bonus levels you download to the R3 GBA cart, assuming this secret passage exists, but all of those levels are very difficult and straightforward without branching paths. I'd be surprised if there were a secret within.

But then again there's supposed to be an 11th bonus level as well, but who knows?

I think 2D Nightmare are not in Rayman 3 PC. I think the folder for 2D Madness is toudi_00, the file toudi_00.lvl loads textures for moving flowers, mushrooms and black lums. Also, the file contain the word "LAU_mCamera2D" However I cannot find a folder for 2D Madness.
