I had recorded an alternate version of the line done my self which suited the delivery and timing I had originally intended when I first imagined the short a little more. However, not only did I feel completely horrible for doing it, but I also found my recording to have issues of its own - most notably the fact that he (The Musician's Child that is :P) now sounded a lot like a girl, which isn't what I wanted, but is entirely unavoidable due to the fact that I am a girl, and I'm not that great a little boy voices. Some female voice actors can pull it off really well (and others really, really can't. *cough*Amy Palent*cough*), and I guess I'm not one of them :mryellow:.

After having cleaned up your recording (adding some noise removal filters and junk to make it the same audio quality as the other lines in the animation), I made an alternate version of the short that syncs up with your line instead. I have to admit, a lot of the problem with delivery that I thought was in it is really non apparent when coupled with the animation, and the expression I'd put on the character to match it, and it actually works quite well :D

The only problem now is I now have two versions of the incomplete flash short, one with my line and one with yours - and now I have to pick between them :confus:! I'm really hoping that I can keep your line in the final product though :)

In other news, I only have to animate one final line into the cartoon now, and then it will be complete. I'm pretty sure I will be able to do this evening, although I also have some school based work to do as well, which is obviously more important :P. Considering how little there is to be done though, I'm pretty sure I'll manage it :)

Speaking of problems in the audio, were there any problems with mine? I have a deadly feeling I might have screwed with the EQ, though I may be thinking of something else. I just layered a compresser over it like mad.

No, they were fine - and actually the best quality recordings I've heard from any home microphone in a long time! Your lines were the only ones in the whole flash (including yours, mine, and Rulez) where I didn't have to do any noise removal editing before using it, which can't be a bad thing :)!

Well, that's probably because it wasn't a "home microphone," I used this baby:

And shit, then the person I sent the off-EQ voice lines to still has them. I accidentally removed all the bass off them and now he's trying to mix them. Shiver me timbers, I should fix that.

THE ANIMATION IS COMPLETE!

Image

By which I mean, the animation was complete a while ago, but I spent the rest of my time making the dementedness you see above :P. Why?

The image is broken, I don't think you pasted the right URL. If there are huge strings of AAAAAHQQQQOfijqeoij and such, then it probably won't work.

RayFan, how in the fuck did you do that? I can normally see you quoting Electoon's post, but when I quote you, I get the message.

EDIT: never mind. Nothing to see here. Go somewhere. Don't look at this post. Ignore it.

It worked for me earlier, and then it stopped working just now

Sometimes GoogleSites can be a pain. Fixed it now - but it meant that I had to put....that.....thing...on Deviant Art. Umm....

What do you reckon is the best way of contacting LighteningLion?

PM maybe, but I'm not sure as he's a bit inactive now.

Yeah, he hasn't posted since December, that was the problem I saw as well. Although if I do it by PM, then it should come through on his email, right? (this is all relying on the fact that email is regularly checked too...)

Otherwise I'll have to resort to the Newgrounds forums, and as I really don't like the community over there in it's current state, I really want that to be a last resort...

Also WHAT HAVE I UNLEASHED UPON THE WORLD? It's strangely hypnotic Image

That depends on whether he's checked the option 'Notify me of PMs via e-mail' option in his User Control Panel.

Hmm, good point :P

Isn't the email notification set as enabled on default?

Don't forget, LightningLion has a very active YouTube account. I can almost guarantee he will respond on the same day you send him a message.

Default, yes, but maybe he switched it off. You can always try. Also try posting in his Randimation thread.

And the I will be living on the street. :P

Electoon, you plan to do more animations, right?
