Rayman was never consistent when it comes to lore though. Globox was scared in both games, but he had a smartass personality in Rayman 3 despite still being a little clumsy. In Rayman 2, he didn't have that personality at all, and while being somewhat clumsy along with having the broken English, he didn't have an attitude. I guess it makes it pretty ironic considering he tells Rayman "you were nicer in Rayman 2".

That being said, I do prefer his 3 potrayal, and I think Ubisoft does too. And even though they are some inconsistencies, I'd imagine Ray 1-3 to be the most canon to each other, mainly due to multiple references in there. I don't personally care about continuity that much as long as the gameplay is good though it'd be cool if Rayman 4 (if it ever gets made :mefiant:) would keep Rayman and Globox's personalities from 3, I don't think that their braver, somewhat crazy personalities from Origins, Legends would fit in story based game.

Yeah they're not really supposed to have a personality in the UbiArt titles, they're just happy-go-lucky and really hyper.

I stand by theory that some of Rayman's adventures take place in different universes dreamt by Polokus, this would explain the differences between some of the chars, heck, in Raving Rabbids baby Globoxes looked nightmarish and IMO low effort. Given that it was supposed to be platformer at first, I wonder how Globox (if he appeared in there) would have looked like O_O.

Yeah, few people actually made this theory of "changing world" which sounds more plausible.
Perhaps Michel Ancel himself can explain this.

No need to imagine multiple worlds dreamed by Polokus, just the one world that keeps changing all the time. That's how dreams work, your mind pays less attention to consistency than it does when you're awake.

Agree, I personally have a headcanon that Rayman smokes some kind of magical weed along with Globox from time to time which is why they're so jumpy in UbiArt games, lol.

There was this weird image of them snorting coke off the nymphs asses, and that being the reason they're so hyper, but I probably shouldn't share that. :P

I saw that one :oops2:, though obviously I'd imagine it to be more innocent like, I've imagined them using smoking pipes similar to the ones that Hobbits use in LOTR series.

Oh, I know that image.
I always assumed it implied the wackiness of the characters, being a sort of parody if we can call that.

I remember seeing it before playing Origins, so I didn't understand the context until I played the game.

I was just recently thinking about how I always had a fear of sudden loud noises, then I was thinking about how balloons popping is one of the things that always made me nervous, as weird as that sounds. Anyway, I looked it up, and there really is a balloon phobia, named "globophobia". I almost wonder if this is where Ubisoft got Globox's name from come to think of it, since he's really scared all the time, and he does float like a balloon in Rayman 3 whenever he drinks plum juice. It would be pretty interesting if this was the case.

The name Globox is also very similar to globe and globo (spanish word for balloon).

That would be interesting then. I've never looked into this before, but it would be interesting if that was actually the origins for his name.

Come to think about it, I don't think the origin of the name was ever explained? Not that there has to be an explanation, though.

I find that to be a very interesting and convincing theory! I learned something today too (the phobia name). :)

A lot of things are left unexplained in the series, even the story as to how Rayman and Globox are suddenly best friends when Globox didn't exist during the first game. Sometimes I guess it's just fun to come up with your own theories because of things like this.

That's an interesting coincidence given how Globox can inflate himself in 3. And M/Arena, for that matter! And I guess if he killed himself in the Ubiart games too

I wouldn’t be surprised if his name had a secret meaning, since that’s the case with rayman
