Yeh, I honestly have better things to do with my time than look after someone who just begs and begs for attention and then showers you with licks after. Keeping a dog to me would be like keeping that annoyingly optimistic and mentally inept, low-functioning autistic kid a few years younger than you. Not saying that's bad, but going to willingly get a dog for me would be like going to willingly get the above human.

Exactly my point. When a crapload of dogs surround me near the entrance they just have to jump and bark and lick and shit (by this I mean actually shit). So I have to somehow get to the cats; the greater specie.
Other than the shelter, I have contact mostly with cats, as I have 2 - Figaro and Sally. The only irritating thing is when they want to enter a different room, they get agressive.

Difuq no. People just like to butcher their dogs' hygiene more.
I like cats for pretty much the same reason you dislike them I'd say. I like how independent they are often while still loving those close to them. For one, I would really be annoyed by constantly having to take care of a dog and pick up its shit after it, whereas with a cat, and can trust them to be both personal and social at times. They feel more like people than dogs do.
I don't like the fact that dogs need to go outside everyday to do their necessities. Cats are way better than them in this matter.
Cats might be more independent than dogs but they are equally friendly if you treat them well. I feel that with my cats.

Going out with dog is quality time. When you have a chewtoy its even better because you can play with the dog, by throwing the toy and there are a lot more possibilities.
It seems that some of you dont like licking, but thats one way how the dog shows that he respects you (the leader). Thats also what the dogs relatives wolves do in their herd. They lick the leaders (alpha couple) of the herd. Licking is also way how the dogs show they like you.
I really miss my aunts dog. She was about 15 when she died. The better side in the cats is that they live longer. Most dogs die in the age of 10-15.

Naah, cats have around the same life span. :/

I heard that most cats live 20 years, but that info was maybe false.

The average life time of a cat is around 15. Cats that can live longer than that are kinda rare, I believe, especially holding 18 up.

Both cats and dogs can end up living for way longer then their average lifespans depending on their breed and other genetic and health factors. One dog called
Bluey and a cat called
Creme Puff are top examples, those these are obvs extremely rare. I've known a cat that lived for about 20 years or so myself.

Haha, that convinces me even less. The the concept of respecting me as an alpha leader is... fdhbgjnjnm, unnerving.

I know Pedigree animals usually don't live for long as your average cat/dog.

That age info was false, then.
Whats your favorite dog/cat breed? My favorite dog breeds are finnish lapphund, labrador retriever, and jack russell terrier.

Apple, my latest cat, was a Siberian (which are relatively rare):

(this isn't Apple, though it looks a lot like her)
They would probably be my favourite, tied with Bengals:

There first cat's eyes are incredibly freaky. It's almost as if they've been Photoshopped to give it a naturally sinister stare...

Cats' eyes are strange. Since they're actually flat with a transparent bulb around them, they can catch direct glare off the side very easily, and the picture was obviously taken with a flash. Here's a better example with no flash:
Oh god I love these cats so much. I need to get another Siberian.

I wonder what cat or dog meat tastes like.

I've smelled it, it's like lamb versus chicken, only way more on the lamb side of sweetness/bitterness. It's the kind of thing that seems only Asians would actually like the taste of.
